After a long day on the road, the only thing my husband and I could think about was food and a comfortable bed to sleep on! I researched on Best Restaurants in Quebec City and this restaurant caught my eye not only because of the...More

On a recent trip to Old Quebec, my husband and I had dinner at Aux Anciens Canadiens on a friend's recommendation. It was busy, and I would suggest you make a reservation. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and our food was delicious! I...More

This is an amazing restaurant. The oldest house still standing since the 1600's. The food is amazing and ver good choices. At the end, you must try the most amazing maple syrup pie.

Like many such restaurants in tourist towns, I would call this a tourist trap. Small, crowded - with an important looking exterior - yet while the service was ok, the food was third class. Look elsewhere.

We went for dinner at 5:30, since at that hour the restaurant offered fixed price dinners starting at $19.99 which included wine or beer, an appetizer, a main course, and dessert. Depending on what appetizer and entree you choose, the price could be higher. My...More

Honestly, we were surprised at the value you received for the price at this restaurant for lunch. The fare is certainly unique, focusing on game meats from the region and other traditional Quebec foods. The base lunch menu includes a glass of wine or beer,...More

Very fine restaurant with nice ambience, very rustic with authentic French-Canadienne fare! The pork meat pie was delicious! As well as the escargots and osso buco!

This was our last night in Quebec City. We were not really hungry, but the menu sounded very good so we stopped here. What a charming spot. It is in the oldest house in Quebec and has been transformed into a restaurant. Since we were...More

We ate here for the experience of eating authentic Quebec food in a preserved old restaurant. The food, service and ambiance met our expectations. This experience complimented our visits to historical sites on Old Quebec.

I did not have the poutine although Suspect each restaurant has its own version. Poutine has gone way beyond the fries, gravy and basic cheese curds of yesteryear.

Sorry I just saw your question. Reservations are recommended during the peak season but mid-week might me ok.
