We saw this on the Anthony Bourdain show a few years ago and wanted to try it so much. All I can say is wow. Our waiter was not the best nor most friendly, but fortunately he passed us off (not sure why, as he...made other tables desserts) to another waiter for the after dinner drink and dessert. And that waiter was wonderful, kind, pleasant and engaging. This is an expensive restaurant both more than well worth it to dine here.More

A romantic dinner with my husband was made more memorable by the exceptional food and service. Our dinner of flambéed duck was perfectly cooked and presented. When one waiter was busy another seamlessly ensured you were well serviced.

I have dined at many top end restaurants and The Continental tops them all. The ambiance is excellent - you think you are in a top rated restaurant in Europe. The service was friendly, timely & impeccable. The meal, prepared table side was incredibly good...- best meal I have ever had. We had the 3 cheese appetizer and Chateaubriand for 2 - the meat melted in your mouth. The flaming crepes Suzette were to die for. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. Highly recommendedMore

We spent a pleasant evening dining here in an elegant setting in a very traditional manner. The service was attentive and formal; the menu likewise with very traditional offerings. One of us had a lobster bisque which was good but not amazing; one of us...had escargots which were tender but the butter (the main reason for ordering escargots) , much too bland and lacking in garlic and parsley. However, the steak au poivre, flambed at the table, and the medallions de veau with a rich wild mushroom sauce, were just right. The chocolate mousse was good, but not amazing. Overall, a satisfying experience.More

We arrived for early dinner at 5 pm on a Friday and it wasn't too busy. I ordered veal medallions and honestly it tasted and looked like pork (first time trying veal). From what I saw from other patrons who ordered steak by flambe, I...thought their food was being cooked a bit too long (they had arrived before me but when we were done our mains, their food just finished cooking) but I wouldn't know for sure. I was really craving a table side flambe show too at that point, so I ordered crepes suzette for two and it certainly delivered. If you come here without getting flambe, you're probably going to leave disappointed. You really get to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant and admire the shows they put on. Servers are constantly around and on standby which is honestly a bit overbearing and makes you feel obligated to tip a lot, but service is topnotch. They serve complimentary bread and butter and when we were just almost done with our first basket, they came around with a second one. My friend also accidentally spilled her drink and they replaced it at no charge (maybe her speaking in french played a part too, haha).More

We went here for my husbands birthday dinner and it was amazing. The service was great without feeling stuffy. The table side service was fantastic. We didn’t feel rushed. We would definitely go again if we were in Quebec City again. Worth every penny.

First and foremost it should be noted that the service was outstanding. It provided a terrific sense of occasion. It was attentive and engaging without being overwhelming. In terms of the appetizers, the pan seared foie gras was fabulous, the crab gaspe with hollandaise sauce...was disappointing. The mains were superb: the flambéed shrimp, the beef Wellington, the braised sweet bread were all divine. As was the dessert!! We will definitely be going back to Conti. There was not a large vegetarian selection. However the gluten free bread came separate and individually wrapped. A huge plus was the valet parking!More

MY hat's off to the chef. Every single course was exceptional. The Dover sole was cooked and deboned at our table. Friendly and attentive waitstaff.

we were celebrating our 52d anniversary and looking for a great place for dinner. we had a reservation at the fairmont, but were a bit anxious about the menu. the continental was exactly what we sought. the waiters decked out in black and white, personalized...service extraordinaire, and a meal to die for. what was particularly nice was the leisurely manner in which the meal was served. sometimes when seatings are limited, the staff is motivated to turn the table over. that was not the case for us. we were able to leisurely enjoy our wine as the courses were well-staggered before they were prepared before us. the whole evening was idyllic and very reasonably priced for the quality of the experience. we absolutely would return if we visit québec city again. thank you thank you for an extraordinary evening. all that was missing was a romantic combo!More

Classic, traditional restaurant in Old Quebec City. Celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary with a classic menu of table side Caesar Salad, Chateaubriand for two and table side Crepes Suzette. Wine paring was very good. Service was very good. A bit pricey, but no regrets. Glad...we had dinner at this establishment.More
