Impromptu family lunch. The shrimp and mango salad was excellent, good serving size. Bruschetta yummy. The teen loved his pizza. We ate inside but had a seat that allowed us to enjoy the outside.

I ordered a margherita pizza as they had a wood fired oven and was looking forward to an authentic Italian pizza. Unfortunately we had to wait over 30 minutes but we said not a problem good things are worth waiting for. When the pizza arrived...it was clear that it was shop bought and not made on site. A hard bread dough base with very salty topping and wait for it...no basil on it.. but oregano! Also two cheeses one of which was orange. We couldn't eat the pizza and we all left it on the plate. The waitress asked if we had enjoyed the pizza and I said no and explained why. She apologised and said "we don't know what topping we have until we get the delivery! I asked rather shocked if she was saying that they were pre made pizza's and she said yes. 3 of these store bought bread discs and 3 beers with a 15% discount was 100 dollars. We paid and left wondering why an Itaian restaurant with a wood fired oven buys in shop bought pizza? passing it off as wood fired authentic cuisine. Why oh why do they buy in store bought pizza's ? What else is store bought and not freshly prepared?More

We had been to this restaurant the night before and had noticed they had a wood fired oven, so decided to come back fir a pizza. The previous even visit was good but not super authentic italian. I commented that we had specifically come back...as we noticed the wood fired oven. We ordered 3 Margherita pizzas. We waited over 30 minutes and even though we seated near the open oven our pizzas arrived from another place. Firstly Margherita is only 3 things - tomato mozzarella and basil. This had oregano no basil and what looked like two cheeses. Super salty and hard baked. None of us could finish. When we asked about our experience we explained it was salty, over baked. The waiter them told us that the oven was not ready so we had good a bought in pizza. Meanwhile they were now producing pizzas from the wood fired oven. If we had just been told that the oven was not ready then we would have ordered something else. Really angry as I being changed 20 odd dollars for a frozen pizza. Offered a free desert but declined and I think they had issued the point. Can not fault the water who served us but really shocking to be given such a low standard of food which was not edible and definitely not authentic Italian food.More

We sat outside, and was told that our waiter was actually the owner. He was not responsive to request for bread and waster. We got the bus boy to bring bread, he did, then our waiter took it away without any comment. The atmosphere was...so rushed, it wasn't a nice meal. We had:1. escargot - tasted like little rubber balls 2. Veal scallopines - veal was tough, vegetables side looked like cafeteria style and tasted like it. My husband had clam sauce pasta, calms were from cans and tasted very salty. The cost totaled $150 with tips, with just a beer and tap water. It is a touristy average meal at best, and not worth the long wait.More

I'd tried to book a lunch here but the website indicated no availability. I went by on the off-chance I might get a seat at the bar, and I was warmly welcomed in! I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered beef carpaccio and prosciutto con...melone. Both were excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. A most excellent place!More

This was our restaurant of choice we always made a point to visit each year we go to Quebec City.. it used to be one of the things we looked forward to doing during our visits..but..NO MORE!! We went for a late supper; 20:00 We...noticed that since Covid restrictions have ben relaxed, that al the tables are very very close together...closer than before covid. There was a lot of noise. We learned that the restaurant has changed hands, unfortunately, and things have changed for the worse. The best thing about our meal was our server: Manuel..he was GREAT! The bread that was brought was stale. The balsmatic vinegar and olive oil supplied was poor, to be polite. I had a salmon tar tar entre that was very good except too much pepper..my wife had the escargot that have halfed in size as to what the were before..they were over cooked! Almost like they were microwaved We both had the black seafood pasta, one of this restaurant's signature dishes. The pasta is supposed to be black..but was more blue than black and were bland..the light sauce/seasoning was so light there was no taste, just oil...the small shrimp were out of a can and the mussels were not fresh (hard to believe for the price). The portions have been down sized so for $40 a plate we were disappointed. I had a caramel fondant for dessert that was like Betty Crocker. Black coffee that was so weak I could see the bottom of the cup...no taste..coffee was so so good here before..my wife had a double decaf espresso long that was tried twice without success..barely a dram in her cup...how can a double long have less volume than a single regular!?! Anyway, I dopped $200+ for our meal but will not be going back after 10 years+ of making a point of visiting. Too bad, this was such a great place with a nice ambiance, but, no more..just another chain restaurant trying to pass off as upscale. We will stick to the bistros in the lower town from now onMore

Very disappointed in the food and service. Tortolini in broth was tasteless. The salad we ordered barely had any mango and was not chilled. The pasta was good however. Asked waiter for extra plate for sharing, took a while. We wanted to split the check...but the waitress didn't do itMore

We were looking for a restaurant in quebec city and opted for Italian after a lot of French cuisine. I must say that this is the best pizza I've ever eaten. My companion agreed. The crust was crispy And was just the right thickness. of...course you can get other things at this restaurant but if you want a good pizza in quebec city, eat here.. centrally located in the old city.More

Basically we wanted to visit Chez Rioux & Pettigrew (before Mistral Gagnat) but first it is a little bit far away from the old city about 500- 600 metres (12 minutes walk for fit people because of the height difference) and it was rented for...a private party on a Friday.. so we went back.. unfortunately we had a really rainy and stormy Friday and I was a bit nerved about the weather.. so we went to the restaurant and the nice blonde pretty lady gave us the last not Reservated table. We had a nice fish for 30 Canadian dollar 💲and a dessert for 9 dollar - the vine was about 50 dollars - the water was free. Very good service. We had life music on a Friday night. As Germans we are irritated about how high the tips are and no… we don’t give so much tip (about 20%), even if the service was really good.More

Nice and warm little place. There was a weird vibe at the entrance coming from a young dark haired men that seemed responsible of the seating or doing some type of supervision there. He had a weird attitude and vibe towards other staff members and...towards clients, including me, so much that i almost left before I was seated. The waitress behind the bar was great. The food was definitely disappointing. Meatballs with crunchy meat parts in it and a bit rubbery....The wine to the glass offered was really not to my taste and I usually like pretty much everything. Tasted vinagrish. Disappointed so will not got here again.More

My husband and I were lucky to be squeezed in on a night where they were the restaurant was full of resevations. This was hands down the best meal we had in Quebec City, and honestly anywhere! The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was...impeccable. We had the ravioli and the chicken parmigiana, and both were incredible. I know next time we visit we will definitely be back, and be eating there more than once!More

The food was simply bad. I had the table d’hôte salmon risotto and my partner chose the penne a la pesto. We left both uneaten. The presentation was fine. In fact, the service was great. It’s just the food was terrible. I was left with...a very bad tummy ache. Really bad.More

The reception was friendly and helpful, a table was quickly found for us. The main course was varied. The Escalope aux Champignons was cold, the Risotto Fruits de Mer was very good and piping hot. The Sirop tarte for dessert was very sweet. The Pinot...Blanc white wine was average. Overall not a bad place to eat, but not up to the standard it's prices should achieve.More

Visited the 18th, Saturday. This was our second visit. Very good Italian food but they also have French favorites. Fresh ingredients. Fast and professional service, all the staff were attentive. The owner Francois is always around and very friendly. We had reservations for 6pm and...it was got busy very quickly. Lots of regulars. They have a busy bar. This time we tasted the escargot Italian style and also tried the beef tartar for starters was very good. For mains we had clam linguine and veal scallopini, all very good. Dessert was creme brulè, also good. Wine list is good but pricey , 50$ plus per bottle. We had the Nippozzano Chianti. They also serve wine by the glass. For a nitecap we ordered aperitifs and found the prices good but the servings small ( about 8$ to 10$ for 1 Oz...really guys?) So we had to order another round just to have a satisfying drink. There was a musician playing guitar at night. All around very good place to eat and have a fun time .More

Went August 26,2021. Service was terrible, not to mention the food. Wouldn’t t go back there. Waited two hours for our meals, and not that it was at full capacity. Seafood was raw and not fresh, because I think they rushed to give us our order,...after complaining. They bring us coffee and desserts, we had to ask for utensils or sugar (which we never got). The tiramisu cookie was stale. Asked to speak to manager or owner, never showed up. A real let down.....👎More
