Had breakfast at this cozy spot right in the middle of tadoussac. Fresh, tasty and large portions to start the day. Returned later for supper. Small but very tasty menu. Yummy appetizers and great mains. Neat cocktails and good wine list. Very highly recommended.
This place was recommended to us for breakfast. Interesting, different breakfast items, as in no bacon and eggs here. Any egg is only served poached, present in a number of combination menu items. My wife had the classical yogourt/fruit/granola combo, well presented and very generous...serving. I had the croque, with poached egg, naturally, also well plated and generous serving. Friendly and efficient service, prices in line with what you get.More
This is another casual, un-fancy, unassuming local restaurant in a small touristy town. The service is casual and friendly. The food was good. The beer was cold. And everything was very relaxed. Noting fancy, but certainly good food (and desserts).
We were there on a family trip in Aug, we chose the place because of the positive review. First they squeezed us in a very small table while the place was almost half empty. Then they forgot to bring our drinks and the silverware, we...had to wait 5 minutes after the arrival of our appetizers.
Now we like good food and we have first ordered multiple cocktails and appetizers to start with. My child liked his appetizer and wanted to order it again with a small substitution, to add a small piece of chees instead of a meat item. (Plate comes with different sliced meats and cheeses), we were very surprised when they refused to substitute an item even though it was for a child and even though it was a very simple request.
Now at this stage, we had ordered cocktails, a bottle of wine, 5 appetizers, and of course the main courses that would arrive after we finish our appetisers. At this stage our total spending was already over 300 $ without taking in consideration the dessert and coffee to follow.
We found it very strange that they refuse to make an effort to substitute one item for a child....I meant they could've asked for few dollars extra, but no, they simply said the chef does not accept to do any substitution.
Now going back to the meal itself, for the price we paid there was nothing special about the food, it is just basic and eatable. Not sure why it has such high reviews. I believe that most of their customers are tourist, and they just don't care about customer service, they just only care about making the most money they can with the least effort or attention when it comes to customer service. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. There are few restaurants next door that offer much higher quality food with the right service to go with it.More
We were in Tadoussac for 2 nights and went twice, the brunch was delicious, i had the croque madame and my husband had the crepe with Brie and mushrooms, both were delicious. Second day we tried the lunch and again very good! Probably the best...place in town for breakfast/Brunch.More
We were wandering down the main street in Tadoussac trying to find something to eat after our six hour journey by car from Montreal. Our party was two foodie adults and two very picky kids on our very first adventure away from home during COVID...times. We didn't feel comfortable to eat inside, and we had had enough fast food for one day.
Café Bohème checked all of our boxes!
The staff was friendly and helpful, and more than happy to accomodate our request for take-out service. We took a short stroll on the beach while we waited, and the host called us right away when our food was ready. We ordered the pizza and the chicken breast for the kids, and us adults had the bison and the paella.
The kid's pizza was a beautiful thin crust, and the chicken breast was the perfect child's portion, with match-stick fries and a little salad. Both children were very happy.
The paella wasn't too heavy on spice, which was amazing since the seafood flavors were rich and delicious. Not to mention the actual giant pieces of seafood throughout! The bison was perfectly cooked (a miracle when ordering takeout meat!) and came with fingerling potatoes and a gorgeous blue cheese salad garnished with sweet and spicy walnuts.
Never in a million years would I have expected to enjoy a meal like this on our "rustic" vacation adventure! Will definitely recommend to anyone who will listen!More
Had to return after 5pm as the kitchen was closed (we first came before 4pm and the lady server did say the kitchen opened at 5 but as she wasn’t great with English and I wasn’t great with French I didn’t understand that i was...in a menu limbo lol); wasnt a problem. Took a walk, came back. We were upstairs and Charles was our server. He speaks english and he was great, very friendly personality. the food was tasty as well, we had paella with lobster bits, shrimps, mussels.. maybe a tad pricey at $32/plate as no bread or parm or anything came with it but it’s vacation and it was a platefull and we were full:)More
