My family had just the best time dining at Chez Dany. For many in our group, it was the first time visiting a cabane à sucre, and everyone found the experience to be incredibly welcoming and fun. The food was delicious, and the kids especially...enjoyed dancing along to the music and playing with the wooden spoons. We will certainly return for another visit.More

Had an amazing all you can eat lunch at this adorable restaurant. Upon walking in, we were provided a guided visit of the maple making process. Our All you can eat meal consisted of French Canadian Peas Soup, Grilled Salt pork rinds, Baked Beans, Meat...Pie (tasty with a drizzle of maple syrup), Baked omelette, Maple ham, Pickled Beets, Potatoes, Maple syrup pancake and Maple Taffy. All was delicious. And the servers were very accommodating for vegetarians and those with food allergies. The service was amazing and was always available if we wanted more food. Highly recommend.More

Dannys Sugar Shack. this location is great right in the middle of no where. A very pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is electrifying. Live music with option to play along. vibrant atmosphere. The food is simple which includes a three course and the maple tea is...too good. A must try and a buy. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. This restaurant is huge and can handle a big crowd. The little store has all the maple products. The cost of the meal is very reasonable and very traditional, we throughly enjoyed the food. The buffet is unlimited and served on the table. Highly recommend this place for one of a life time experience.More

This was a both a learning experience and comfort stop for our group halfway between Quebec City and Montreal. In addition to a meal, you can have a quick tour to learn how maple syrup is harvested and prepared. Our group spent about 30 minutes...on site including a short walk to the maple tree stand to see actual harvesting. Know that there are mosquitoes in the area. We also enjoyed visiting the gift shop.More

We stopped here as part of a tour group on our way to Quebec from Montreal (it's about halfway). We had a lunch of local food accompanied by live traditional music which you can get up and dance to. After visiting the shop we then...went outside and were shown how maple syrup is produced. We then got to try maple taffy which is a sugar candy poured onto snow and then lifted with a wooden stick ready to eat.More

We didn’t plan for it but we did follow the signs on the road and it was a great idea. Really friendly visit before to eat with nice explanations. Food is good and service very friendly. They have a nice shop. The food is quiet...expensive for what it is, only sad thing.More

Our tour group stopped at Chez Dany Sugar Shack on our way from Montreal to Quebec City. We had a very interesting and informative talk by the owner’s daughter on how maple syrup is produced. We also enjoyed a snack of maple cookies and tea....One of my friends had a meal there on another tour and she said the food was very good. The atmosphere was very homey and a very pleasant experience. I would make it a point to stop at Chez Dany if you want a good meal and learn about maple syrup production.More

This was a stop on our escorted tour of Canada. It was a hoot ..fiddle player, people whacking these wooden paddle things, and lots of merry folks eating the food, served family style. Worth a stop if you're in the area

I absolutely love this place. A visit to Chez Dany is a must if you are in the Mauricie region. This is more than a restaurant, it is a cultural experience where you will be welcomed beautifully by the team, listen to live violin music,...taste taffy (which is maple syrup frozen in front of you on a tray of snow in the beautiful grounds) and find out how maple syrup is produced. The place is impeccable, the food is traditional, homely and lovely, and the team are friendly, professional and put their heart and soul into giving you a special experience full of maple syrup!!More

This place is absolutely wonderful! I loved how they set their wooden spoons on each table as they loved seeing their guests play along as they had their employees playing a violin and wooden spoons . I was told to put maple syrup in the...pea soup but I was already eating my pea soup before I realized that the container they used for their syrup wasn’t juice . So the water bottle is the actual maple syrup . Also if you have the little meat pies , make sure you drown it in maple syrup because it tastes sooo good . And don’t forget to get your warm maple syrup on a stick on the ice . Their maple syrup is actually great on EVERYTHING. It’s like that hot sauce saying ,” I put that $&@? on everything !!”More

Food was weird for a better choice of words, but the whole experience was amazing. They only serve one menu and that’s pea soup with pork crackling, fried potato, cooked ham, beets, meat pie, baked ham omelette, and pancakes and you are supposed to pour...maple syrup on everything. It’s different, but nice! Afterwards you get to make your own desert, when they pour maple syrup in ice and you make your own pop icicle.More

Of course, you can eat here, but we didn’t stop here for this. Frankly, I love honey, and consider maple syrup only as a substitute for it. But it was interesting for us to look at the entire production cycle of maple syrup.

We stopped at Chez Dany on our way from Montreal to Quebec City. We were the first customers for lunch - just a bit early. The food was great and more than we could possibly eat! The only mistake we made was not pouring maple...syrup on everything. We only used it on the pancakes. Next time we'll make better use of the syrup! The staff was attentive and helpful. And a great gift shop too!More
