Very expensive but I don't feel that the food is all that special. Be prepared to dress up when going there unless you want to stand out like a sore thumb.

Loved the quality and charm of this restaurant. Only a couple of issues they had No AC and the room we had for 60 people upstairs got very hot. Also they struggled a bit to get the food out quickly for our party . Many...had to start eating while others were waiting their food as service was a bit slow.More
Unfortunately, our AC system did malfonction. You will be happy to know everything is fixed, we installed in an entire new system. Sorry to here that the service was slow, i shall follow up with the staff to find out what happened, because that is...More
While in the area for the Blues Festival we found this gem of a restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise with good service and a pleasant meal. We enjoyed two of their evening specials; the trout and the veal. We will surely return another time.
This place has a unique personnel servicing the customers. They make you feel welcome and serve the customers with happiness. Fine cuisine and Claude's specialty is certainly the duck.
Merci de votre visite chez nous, et merci des chaleureux commentaires. Au plaisir!
I must have eaten here a dozen or so times over the past few years. Every dish is a challenge for the senses. The food and service here will easily match anything you will have experienced here or abroad. Many of the offerings are local....A little far from the downtown Trois Rivieres area but well worth the 10 minute car ride to this establishment near the Laviolette Bridge.More

Great place for a business lunch. Food and service are great. Quiet ambiance. I recommend this place for business and a romantic dinner.
Thank you for your coments, your are always welcome...
Le Castel des Prés begins with a well curated wine list. The servers suggestion, a dry French Chablis, primed my taste buds for the meal to come. My choice was salmon tartare topped with greens and lightly pickled cabbage and accompanied with likely cucumber and...reddish. I added the shooter of Worcestershire sauce to heat this avalanche of subtly blended tastes, and took a few promme fritts (crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside) dipped in a mustard mayo. My companion started with tomato bisque and followed with a elegantly composed Caesar Salad dressed with crisp pancetta and thin layers of parmesan cheese. The wine was worth repeating with dessert: a chocolate lava cake dressed with fruit, whipped cream and more chocolate cream. It was hard to find such a fine venue in the suburban sprawl on the outskirts of Trois-Rivieres. A sprawling building that likely hosts large parties, we dined on the covered patio/late spring. A perfect setting and great attention to the server who was patient with our travellers French and filled in gaps with English explanations. It's worth going out of the way to enjoy a meal here.More
Thank you for visiting us, we hope that you ad have a nice trip in the province of Quebec. We invite you to come back and enjoy another meal at le Castel des Prés...
I found my way here because of chance meeting with a wonderful woman I met at a museum in Montreal. After spending an amazing day together she recommended I eat here because I was en route from Montreal to Québec City. She said she had...the best steak she had eaten in 10 years at this restaurant. How could I not eat there? I arrived at 8:30, ravenous. I ordered their in house smoked salmon appetizer and wow! I ate it all. It's favors with all the accompaniment s where expertly paired: salty, smokey, Britney, sweet, tangy, creamy, what am I missing there? It blew me away! Then onto my main course, the sweetbreads...it defies description. It melted in my mouth and was easily on of the best things I have ever eaten. The service was spot on, the interior, the lighting (dim, how I like it), everything was perfect. I was dining alone while traveling and yet with the staff so easy to talk to, in both French and English! I felt like I was in good company. Do not miss this restaurant, I am so glad I serependitiously made it here. What luck!More
Hello! And thank you very much for your good comments...Be sure that i will personally read it to my staff who take care of you (kitchen and service) We hope to see you again in a future trip in Quebec...
We had dinner in this restaurant that was recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed. We took red tuna which was very tasty and some pastas in a very original sauce. The price is quite high (50 $ per person minimum) but it...is worth it if you are looking for good quality food. I can recommend it.More

Each time I've travelled to Trois-Rivieres, my wonderful host and best friend brings me here. The food is delicious and filling. They take pride in every plate and the service is always good. I'm not particularly great at French (I know, I know), however they...always have an English menu on hand. The desserts are to die for.More
Thank you for the comments, its very encouraging for all the team
We were taken to lunch as guest of the former Montreal Canadian's Hockey great, Jean Guy Talbot, who has been a regular at this restaurant for over 50 years expecting a real culinary experience, what we experienced was a total disaster. First, our meal was...served 1 hour and ten minutes after ordering, because, as our waiter explained, "our order had been lost in the kitchen" even though we had ordered off the "luncheon Specials" of the day, a there were fewer then 25 customers being served. We accepted this, because mistakes do happen, and we were there to experience "some delicious french cuisine". We had ordered something light off of the "Menu Specials of the Day" which was described as a the fresh green garden salad accompanied by fried brie, and roasted pears. What arrived was: (1) wilted ice berg lettuce hearts and stem pieces with a scattering of julienne carrots and cucumbers and almost no dressing. The dressing which was present had been applied much earlier to the point that it further served to wilt the lettuce. We requested additional dressing from the waiter. He returned with a serving of "out of the bottle" vinaigrette equivalent to about one tablespoon for each of us. (2) The "roasted pears" were so green that they were almost impossible to cut with a knife and the roasting marks only added to a bitter tasting mess. When the waiter ask me if there was something wrong with the pears, I told him that properly roasting a ripened pear serves to heighten its flavor and sweetness, but it never works on green unripened pears. (3) the two small servings of fried brie were acceptable, but really the only thing in the dish that was desirable to eat. We were served a small condiment advertised as "Home made ketchup" for the brie, which was more like a fruit salsa, and not to my liking. So for $18.00 each, not including drinks, taxes or tip with had a salad which should have never been served, and a couple of baskets of bread and toast as we waited for our long delayed lunch. We have lived in Europe for several years and have learned that sometimes exquisite cuisine requires exceptional execution and time. So the final arrival of the food is so anticipated and enjoyed that the wait is quickly forgotten. That was certainly not the case at Le Castel des pres and frankly our guest was completely embarrassed by the food and completely frustrated by the service of the waiter. There a so many other great restaurant choices in this area, it was unfortunate that we wasted our time at this one!More
I am personaly very sorry about your experience in my restaurant. I know J-Guy and Pierrette since a long time and they can tell you that is not the standard of the restaurant. I really dont know what happened that day at lunchtime, but be...More
French - like cuisine with a bit of Quebecois taste, despite no poutine is served. Tasty salmon trio and delicious prime rib. Extended wine (and beer) list. A little expensive, but we took advantage of the 10% off by showing the waitress our room key...of the Days Inn hotel.More
Merci et au plaisir de vous revoir bientôt!
So i went there a few times for different reasons and never really enjoyed that type of overrated cuisine but never made a big deal out of it. Last time i went there was at the end of the summer and that very time was...a total mess... We were three colleagues a sunday night who decided to give it a try. The menu looked great and there was a great selection of wine. I ordered some ratatouille as an appetizer, which was good, and then the ''terre & mer''. It was described as a veal filet mignon, with two lobster claws, some pleurotte and gnocchi. I received an overcooked piece of meat, one claw of lobster, some café mushrooms and the most horrible gnocchi i've ever tasted. To much flour, cold and it looked like it was ''cooked'' in the fryer. it looked like breakfast potato at a cheap Tutti Frutti restaurant. I told all those very singular but yet, absurdly over obvious and important details to the waitress who juste agreed. nothing more. No compensation for the pleurotte i paid for but were not, neither for half the plate i didn't eat because it was just horrible and she didn't offer to change the dish. One of my colleagues took the ''aile de raie''. Smelled like piss, tasted like piss. No need to say he didn't touch the plate. This fish is very fragile and needs very good care so the ammonia does not ooze and poison the taste of the fish. Let's just say the cooks were careless. It was served with a ''concassée de tomates'' which was chopped tomato, cold, and tasteless. Once again, told the waitress who didn't know how to react. Horrible. Needless to say it was the last time....More
Désolé mais ce n,est pas chez nous que vous avez fréquenté car nous sommes fermés le dimanche...
This is one of the oldest and best restaurant in Trois-Rivières located close to the bridge over the St_Lawrence River (off the city center). It has ample parking, meeting rooms on the second floor, as well as a bistro section and a dining room and...also a terrace. More recently I had dinner in the dining room; I had the fried calamari appetizer and the veal-scaloppini with mushrooms as main dish. Both were prepared to perfection and tasty. We shared a bottle of red wine ( Zenato Ripassa) which is not commonly found on wine list. The menu offers a variety of choices, the wine list is pretty impressive and the service is very attentive. This is definitely a spot to come back to, as a group or even for a romantic dinnerMore
Merci de nous avoir visité, et il nous fera toujours plaisir de vous recevoir chez nous À bientôt!
I recently attended a function at the Castel des Pres and overall I was pleased with the experience What I liked: Semi-intimate setting, old-style building with a lot of charm. Properly diversified menu that should appeal to most. Friendly and efficient staff. Good food quality...and nice presentation, without being "over the top". Plenty of parking space. This is not in the Downtown core, and is somewhat all by itself so you have to know where you are going to find this hidden gemMore
