I want to start by saying this place is advertised as a "Steak House". What??? That would imply there should be a decent selection of beef ...Right? Nope only 3 cuts available. Ribeye, Top Sirloin and Filet.
Now adding to the insult, is injury. Not...only are there limited selections available, the portions of the steak are egregiously small. They are easily 2 oz under the advertised cut size. I had an 8oz sirloin that was more like 3 oz under sized. My wife had the 6 oz and it was laughable in size (literally not much larger than a golf ball). The 6 oz fillet was tiny as well. The 12oz ribeye was more like a 10 oz.They charge you like you are in the KEG, but the portions are teeny tiny. In a meat and potatoes town like PA, this place isn't going to last long.
I cooked professionally for 3 years at a steak house as their broiler and I know a good cut of meat when I see and taste it. We got grade "B" steak. Not sure if they buy it as Sysco like most of the area restaurants do, but they should find a different meat supplier. If youre running a "Steak House", your signature offerings should be top notch. Not Meh!
The lack of quality and portion size extended into their other entrees. We had a large group who also had the fried chicken and ribs. The back ribs were TINY. It looked like a rack you would see on a cat , not a pig. Ive seen "Baby" back ribs but this was ridiculous. The fried chicken was also of poor quality. It seemed to be made in house, but was over cooked on the outside and greasy thru ought. (Montanas has better ribs and I refuse to eat at Montanas, yetch)
When you walk away dumping $700 for meal and drinks for a party of 10 you expect that the food would be at least average. Nope. Everything from the appetizers to side dishes and the entrees were sub par and not worth what you paid for it. 4 thick slices of carrots and one dried out half burnt brussell sprout split in two qualifies as a side dish I guess.
At least the atmosphere is nice, kind of an upscale Boston Pizza (Which I wish I had gone to instead of).
Bottom line eat elsewhere if you are really hungry. I'd rather eat at home than this place any day. Save your money. Mr Mikes is a DUD.
