We were very excited to try Bon Temps after hearing many good things. We went for our 5th anniversary. The room is cool and the cocktails were great but we should stopped there. Mussel appetizer was tasty but only contained maybe 15 mussels total so poor value. We were very excited to try the low country boil but were extremely disappointed food was almost stone cold.corn was a shrivelled tough Cobb and sausage had been precooked so long ago and clearly just reheated it was inedible. When we mentioned to the server our food was cold she said here let me try it like she didn’t believe us! At this point we had been waiting for food for an hour and thirty minutes so we clearly did not want to wait for another hour for a new order one wasn’t offered anyway! Our server came back and gave us a spiel about owner being cheap and only could offer us a 10 percent discount which was ridiculous as my wife’s food was a total disappointment especially for 45 dollars! Unfortunately we will not be back or recommending this restaurant to anyone

Before visiting Saskatoon, my family and I saw Bon Temps Cafe on the TV show, "You Gotta Eat Here". We had to try it. We went for the authentic boil experience. The experience starts with a perfectly seasoned gumbo followed by the singing and clapping staff bringing out a huge pot of the best cajun cuisine and dumping it right on the table. Crawfish, crab, clams, mussels, potatoes, corn, sausage andouille, shrimp together with jambalaya. Beignets for dessert. The experience is $45 per person and worth it. The portion of food is huge so come hungry. By far this is the best cajun dining experience outside of New Orleans. Thank you to Nicole and Samara for making the authentic boil experience a delight for my family. My son is still repeating the chant "laissez et laizzez bon temps rouler".

We have eyed Bon Temps as a couples night out for awhile now and we finally made it happen. Making a reservation was simple, we arrived and were greeted and seated promptly. Everything from drink orders, appetizers, entrees and desserts were prompt and our service was the perfect balance of making sure we were happy but not where we were annoyed out or interrupted. Definitely recommend and will return.

Did an online order before Christmas for 4 boils and crab legs. Specified there was a pork allergy and to have no sausage. Sausage was in the package. When I called the restaurant, the manager was rude and refused any kind of compensation. We specified that we wanted to pick it up cooked and not cook ourselves. It was picked up uncoooked with pork and no cares for allergies. Also was charged a $63 mandatory tip. The online price was $260 for everything and not $378 for us to pick up and tip the restaurant. Have left several messages for the owner and no call backs have been made. Very disappointed as I have been a loyal customer since opening, but unfortunately will not recommend to anyone.

Did this restaurant get new owners or something?
My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for years and it has always been reserved for special occasions because it is always that good. It was our favourite restaurant. The atmosphere, food, and service has always been amazing, but something changed on this visit.
We were seated and then forgotten about. Our waitress was not as welcoming as we have had in the past but whatever, food is always good. It took a long time for us to order since the waitress would go and talk to the other waitresses in the back of the restaurant. Finally, we were able to order our food and have our drink.
This restaurant always had a great atmosphere but even that was different on this visit. There was no music playing and it was not as lively as it had been in the past. It was almost like I was sitting in a Boston Pizza but at least Boston Pizza has TVs and sound in the restaurant.
After waiting a long time, we finally received our food and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. We could have got the same type of food at Boston Pizza. I had the jambalaya, and it was like eating rice a roni with overcooked sausage and it only had 2 shrimp and an undercooked crawfish. I can't remember what my wife ordered which is sad because in the past we would rave about the food to each other afterwards and then to our friends and family.
We finished eating and it took the waitress 30 minutes after to notice. We had plans after our meal, but we had planned it out to make it to the next place in time. The waitress finally comes over and we ask for the bill, perfect, let's get out of here.
We waited another 45 minutes to receive our bill because the waitress was in the back talking to other workers. I actually had to leave the restaurant to get the car so we could make it to the next destination. My wife actually had to get up from the table and ask the waitress again for the bill.
It is October when I write this, and we went here in April. I was hoping when I read other recent reviews that maybe something changed but clearly it has not. I was going to give this restaurant one last chance but reading these new reviews, I think I will spend our money and time elsewhere.

Worst service we have had in years. We had company in town from Ontario, so we wanted to show them a unique local restaurant. We were seated immediately, but from there no service. Waitresses would walk right by our table and did not acknowledge us at all. Finally after close to 1/2 an hour we walked out and nobody did anything, except one waitress who said "Have a nice night" What a joke. We went to another local restaurant and spent over $200 for our meal, so I guess it was their loss.

Not very good food. I had “fire bird” the chicken was dry and way over deep fried that I was exceptionally hardened. The corn on the cob that came with it was inedible it was mushy and tasted rotten. Will NEVER ever return.

We had the sampler appetizer which was all fried and had some good flavor. It is pork, crab cakes and hush puppies with 3 sauces.
Afterwards, my wife had a Caesar salad and gumbo. I had the buttermilk fried chicken. Her salad was a good size for a side and the gumbo was good. The buttermilk fried chicken was to be half chicken, but instead it was two thighs and three legs. No mention in advance that they only had dark meat chicken. I also don’t like chicken legs, so in a real half chicken I just don’t eat the leg.
Also, ordered the Vieux Carre drink which was supposed to be a bourbon drink, but their menu is wrong and the bartender just said they would let the website people know (Online menus due to Covid)
Overall, the missed expectations are what brought the rating down for us. If something doesn’t match the menu, you should let people know in advance.

Quit reading reviews and go eat here! The flavours of Bon Temps are unreal and can’t be captured by an image. We started with the sampler of crab cakes, bone-in ribs, and Hushpuppies and then moved on to the shrimp etoufee and blackened chicken. The food is clearly homemade with care and the layers upon layers of flavour are unmatched in Saskatoon.
Oh, and they have a lot of local craft beers on tap too- a nice touch that adds to a wonderful evening out.

Third time trying this establishment in the past few years, kept hoping it would get better, it hasn’t.
Took the wife out for a date.
The hush puppy app was so greasy I couldn’t wash the oil out of my mouth.
Had the jambalaya, the sausage was black, dry and burnt, the sauce tasted life it came from a can.
The creole dish was the same level of tasteless.
Also had a bowl of “gumbo” tomato soup with rice.
My wife promised to remind me if I ever consider going again . . .

Decided to try this place out. Was on some cooking show. I had ribs, against my better judgement, and I’m pretty picky. I don’t mind picking up and gnawing on a rib, if it’s tender. These were not. It was a huge rib, but the ribs didn’t come apart as there were other bones/cartilage running perpendicular to the ribs, which held them together, not an easy cut either. The ribs covered the whole plate and all the mashed potatoes and beans were below the rib. Cutting the rib resulted in my plate getting muffin top ....you know, potatoes squished out the sides.
Mashed potatoes and beans were awesome. Ate about half my rib and finally gave up. Wife had biscuits and gravy. Had a bite of it and reinforced my thoughts on never ordering ribs again. Would I go back, meh, if I just couldn’t decide and I was standing in front of the place, I’d likely go in.

It all started with a great intro via website and friend's suggestion that we should try this. In town for a trade show and we were looking for a cultural and foodie experience. Vibe was great. Atmosphere awesome. Drinks delicious. Server was wonderful. Food absolutely disappointing. I had the Seafood Creole. I was led to believe I would get red snapper, scallops, and other seafood on rice with fresh corn and a biscuit. What I got was shredded and minced seafood with chunks of scallops, one craw dad that was very salty and more of a garnish then part of the meal and half cooked rice. Corn was cold.
Would I go back? No. I got a discount on the food which after tipping the waitress pretty much balanced out.

This was my first time visiting this Louisiana infused restaurant.
The vibe is different than other restaurants (especially in Saskatoon) and I really appreciated the service.
Food was tasty and we enjoyed Voodo Hour. The mussels, crab cakes and mac & cheese were tasty and a good size.
The beer was cold and it was a different type of experience, which I really appreciated.

The restaurant looks great and the service was good. The food was okay. The peel and eat shrimp were cooked well, the crab cakes had very little flavour, the jambalaya was okay but had a very strong tomato paste flavour, the seafood creole had good flavour but the rice was horribly overcooked as was the corn on the cob it tasted water logged and I was unable to eat it. I don’t understand all the excellent reviews. The food is average at best. We left still hungry and to be honest would not return. They did have many gluten free options which was a bonus.

I waited 15 minutes at the front (with noone else in front of me) waiting to be greeted/acknowledged. Staff members who walked by just ignored us. I finally interrupted someone walking by to ask for service. I witnessed this happen to the next person who walked in as well. The chicken burger was so salty, it was barely edible. The server was brand new and she was very nice and tried her best. I would not go back and I am definitely turned off of Cajun food. The only thing that we really enjoyed was the appetizer shrimp. The ambiance was crazy loud which is fine if thats what you are into.
