There is no coffee culture in Canada (those bits of Canada I have experienced to date anyway) - there IS though, a very strong culture for something that passes itself off for coffee. Baked Cafe offers real coffee and a cappuchino as good as I...can get back in Melbourne, Australia. They also offer delicious mini pizza with traditional Italian flavours, different daily soup with authentic sour dough rolls to soak it up, a variety of wholefood sweet and savoury scones and delicious sour dough breakfast rolls. All food is baked/made on the premises as far as I could make out and the casual dining/seating inside with the sun streaming in the windows or on the pavement outside in the chill Whitehorse wind makes for an excellent breakfast or lunchtime stop.More
We enjoyed a tasty breakfast, friendly staff, and welcoming atmosphere here on our second morning in Whitehorse. Excellent gluten free options and a server who went out of her way to recommend places to visit on our short stay.
Coffee and scones - they can’t be beat! Casual breakfast near the water front and in the heart of downtown. Lovely staff, clean and comfy atmosphere, and a great selection of fresh baked goods.
While touring the downtown of Whitehorse we needed a quick lunch before meeting the rest of our tour group. Baked was recommended by another couple in our group. They raved about the croissants but we were craving pizza and Baked has a variety of personal...sized ones baked on an on-going basis. We had to wait about 5 minutes for some to come out of the oven and while we ate ours all the rest sold. The line-up for food was never ending and it was difficult to find seating either indoors or out. Always a good sign when a place is frequented by the locals!! Their daily soup seems to be extremely popular.More
A busy place. Had the Cappuccino and a croissant. Friendly staff, fairly quick service at the counter. A separate coffee station for the drip coffee. Found a spot on the patio. It is situated in the Horwood mall, so you can wander around and check...the stores. It is close to the Yukon river where there are benches too.More
Lineup was 10 deep for the 7:00am opening ... definitely worth the wait - the scones were delicious - lots of options for different types of flour. Loved the blueberry white chocolate the best!
The stuffed croissants were flaky & warm and the scones were light and very tasty. The staff were very welcoming. A great place for a relaxing lunch.
Very busy, long wait but good coffee and treats. Could not find seating both times we went. Nice vibe though and would go again. Right on Main street attached to a small mall with interesting stores
Again, good food and reasonably priced. However, can be VERY crowded, so best to go non-peak hours: before 11:00 and between after 1:30.
I went to Baked twice during my short stay in Whitehorse. I highly recommend the croissant, the roasted tomato and red pepper gouda soup, and the ginger cookies. Worth the wait!
Perfect place in Whitehorse for a quick snack or light lunch. Fresh made soup was delicious, as was the breakfast croissant, cakes and cookies. We went back a couple of times during our visit as it was so conveniently located in the mall on the...main street with quick and easy service as well as a number of seats for dine-inMore
What a great spot. My husband and I always get coffee and snacks here on the weekends. Mellow vibes and great employees
We recently spent a week in Whitehorse and had the opportunity to enjoy Baked multiple times. The bakery items -- croissants, Danish, scones, cookies and the coffee were outstanding. The atmosphere here is "local" which is great for travelers to experience Whitehorse. It's a busy...place and especially at lunch time. The lines move quickly but beware, they get low on product so go early. If I lived in Whitehorse, I think I'd be a regular at Baked!!More
Get their breakfast croissant with sausage and egg. I almost went back to buy another one when I finished the first one. The coffee is excellent and my wife loves the scones
