Whitehorse for the finest Caribbean Cuisine . Recommendation from my hotel to dine at Antoinette's: Started with salad with a citrus dressing, and then was treated to the Caribbean Spiced Pork, pineapple salsa and sweet bread. Beautifully prepared. Will visit again!

If you find yourself in Whitehorse , head to Antoinette ‘s , a splash of Jamaican colors and spices , fine dining and service . We were craving Arctic char , it didn’t disappoint .perfectly moist , sitting on a bed of fall vegetables , decorated with delicate al denté carrots . A visual and tasty delicacy . We tried the schnitzels with truffle sauce , it was the best we ever tasted . Cheered with Rosemary margaritas !! A fine beginning to our Holiday .

I was not sure what to expect as I read the former owners who were from the Caribbean had left. Further, it is a large menu with so many different types of cuisines, I thought this might be a jack of all trades, master of none. I was pleasantly surprised. The food did not disappoint and it appears the standards have been kept up by the new owners. I had the lentil soup. It was light, well spiced, on the edge of being salty, but not, and simply delicious. Wonderful way to start a meal. The highlight was a dish from the ABC islands, a Wild Board Keshi Yena. I have never had the dish before, so no baseline, but what I tasted was outstanding. It was beautifully seasoned and cheesy. It was served with a bake (fried dumpling for some). I ordered another bake because they were so good and a West Indian would be satisfied with them. For dessert, I had a home made lime ice cream. Not sweet, a bit of salt, and real lime flavour. I had a decent cocktail, but I can't remember what it was. Prices are reasonable for quality and portion size of food. While the service was friendly, it was a bit slow. There was a warning indicating they were short staffed and requesting patience. I found it to be a bit dusty and a tad dingy. There was a dead bug on a menu. My dining companion informed that the toilets were not overly desirably. That is the only reason this does not get a 5/5 and gets a 3/5 in ambience. It appears that tour groups frequent here, which makes sense because it is a relatively large restaurant. If large groups are present, this generally slows down service. It is generally advertised as a Caribbean, specifically West Indian restaurant, but it is not. While there is good old school Latin music, there was not one song played from the West Indies. I think they need to rebrand it as a global fare or international restaurant, because it is definitely not even predominantly West Indian or even Caribbean. location is very food, close to (basically in) the heart of downtown Yukon. Close to most major hotels. I would go back as the food was excellent. Overall: Food 5/5 Value 5/5 Service 4/5 Ambience - 3/5

I wrote what was a 3 star review for me and my girlfriend's visit to this restaurant. It read (originally) like this: "Food was good and well cooked but between one appetizer and two main dishes, the total cost of food came to over $100 dollars. Personally found the food not worth the cost." Once this review was posted, the business manager of Antoinette's google listing felt it necessary to call us liars, say we "got too drunk to add", and complained about us tipping (while also not pulling up the correct bill). We didn't order any alcohol that day as we are generally not social drinkers. I made a reply calling the business manager's review out for calling us drunk along with the other oddities of the whole reply, and the review has now been pulled down for review for potential abuse (if you try to find it in the next few days while it's under review it will not show up for you). I would not be surprised if it was manually flagged by the same person that wrote the response to me. If true, that's an abuse of the abuse flagging system. Overall, I am incredibly dissapointed with current management and will not be returning to this restaurant until it changes hands again. To see the review I wrote, the reply from Antoinettes on Google Reviews, and my edit to the original review there, please see the attached photos.

Thank you LunaDook for leaving a review. Just like in your Google review which we did not flag out for your information. We take issue with your inaccurate information about the prices of food in our restaurant. We take feedback very seriously; however, you or your girlfriend mentioned that you ordered an appetizer and two main dishes and that your bill amounted to over $100. However, the highest ticket item we have for our appetizer is $15 and for the main dish, $27. Given the said numbers and the things you ordered (an appetizer and 2 main dishes), we really find it very hard to acknowledge the truthfullness of your claim. A copy of our menu is available on our website for the reference of all. We responded publicly on Google since we take pride in the service and food we offer and will not allow our establishment to be reflected negatively through false information. Opinions are subjective but facts are facts. It was unfortunate that your review got flagged and tagged as malicious. We did not do it as we wanted the public to be the judge of how you and your girlfriend review. Maybe Google saw something in you or your girlfriend? You stated that you could not find your receipt. Maybe you can go over our menu and try every permutation of appetizer and two main courses then add two orders of juice or pop then add a dessert to total $85. Then add tax of 5% to gross out at $90. Maybe a tip of $11 would take you over $100. Maybe that was what happened? Now let us put you in our shoes. You are so upset about your review being flagged and us replying back. That has no impact on your income. Can you now imagine if it was your livelihood and that of 9 staff and their families being disparaged? Shall we now head to Yelp or any other rating site? We will not back down. If you are really so sure of yourself and your reviews then tell us your name so we know that you are not just hiding behind the anonymity of the internet.

Our tour group, had reservations, our menu choices were selected and order placed several days in advance. Our first item, appetizer were served after an hour. My appitizer was so heavy garlic that one small taste lingered through the rest of the evening. My entree, lobster, was so overcooked that I couldn't get it cut or out of the shell. My entire meal was more than a disappointment. It was a failure. After 2 and half hours sitting there, waiting and being unable to eat anything, our group left. The tour manager discussed with the restaurant about all of the groups complaints, nothing was offered to make a better experience.

You would not expect to find a place serving top end Caribbean cuisine in Whitehorse, but that is what you get with Antoinette's. The Sunday brunch, with a large selection of eggs benedict variations, is not to be missed. Very friendly staff.

We came here based on the other reviews and because we were craving some spice, and it didn't disappoint! There's a wide selection of international foods served (Filipino, Indian, Middle eastern, Caribbean, Dutch, etc.) and I was craving some southeast asian comfort food and got the pork sisig. It was very delicious. I also tried the polenta and okra fritters and those were very tasty, and I'll try to make them when I get home. Our server was very polite and attentive, and James the owner was also very friendly and welcoming!

Had group reservation with orders placed in advance. Sat there for over 2 hours and not everyone in our party was still served. When the food came out appetizers were unidentifiable, entrees overcooked ( my wife was unable to cut or chew her overpriced lobster) and desert was served in togo cups. The only reason I can come up with for the 4 1/2 star rating is that the new owners bought the review from the old owners. By no means should you eat here.

Although closed in the evening on Sundays, the owner opened to accommodate our tour group of 24 people and had family members serve as staff for the meal. While I appreciate the effort, I was not happy with my meal. We had to pre-order - I and my husband ordered the Bison Burger (which I have had at other restaurants). I unfortunately have a food intolerance to onions and found that the burger had onions and spices mixed in with the meat. The patty was also very rare and on a very crispy bun which made it hard to bite into. I ate as much as I could with a knife and fork, picking out the onion that I could see. The French fries were good and the rest of our group really enjoyed their meals.

We visited this place late last year. It was my girlfriend's birthday so I requested something special for her, and the chef made her this -- ribeye steak with smashed sweet potatoes, seasoned onions with Caribbean style chimichuri glaze! Thank you!!!

It was an absolutely excellent dinner. Gustavo took care of our table from the moment we entered and continued to make sure our entire night was memorable and fantastic. The food was incredible, the service was quick, and I am so glad we decided to spend our last night of the trip at Antoinette’s. I would recommend this location to anyone who wishes to have a great meal, at a decent price, with a selection of dishes that is unmatchable. Thank you for a great night, Gustavo.

We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. This was our second meal at this delightful spot and it was just as scrumptious as the first. Our tour group of 29 enjoyed a private buffet dinner at Antoinette's. For many it was their first experience with Caribbean fare. The collective comments included; The service was excellent, the food was flavourful, not too spicy with a bit of heat and a pleasant hum." The gluten free diners and vegetarians in the group were particularly pleased with the variety of options available and the accommodating attitude of the staff. Overall, it was a great dining event.

Settled in here on our first night in town based on it being the #1 restaurant. It was OK. I feel like 3 is a little unfair, but it's not quite a four. I settled on a dish with gravy smothered something or other (it's been 10 days) and they were out of it. The waiter (friendly and kind as can be, no complaints) directed me to something else (a couple deer hamburgers). The burgers were overcooked and it was a smattering of gravy. Not enough to moisten them up. They were tough. The potatoes that accompanied were cold. The beer he recommended when I asked for something dark was spot on, so I'll give him that. Service polite, but a hair slow, and they warned of that. My wife's curry dish was very good. The menu is massive. A fusioning of Southeast Asia and Caribbean food.
