We stopped here for lunch. Staff were friendly but the food was very bland and tasteless. Not a place that we would try again.

We all like to go somewhere and have decent westernized Chinese food. We want our spring rolls, chicken chow mien, s&s pork and chicken balls. This delivered. It was simple, good, crispy and hot. Did not deviate too far from the expected fare and made...my tummy happy.More
So online with New Asia Restaurant, a dinner for three shows for $53.95. Normally this priced out individually would be $67.30 before GST. Now first off the food that did come was bland, not good at all like it used to be. Lukewarm, egg rolls...were burnt. Overall just mediocre at best. Chinese food places in town, have gone really down hill while jacking up their prices. Look at my order....dinner for three $57.95....to $54.75 + $7.00 delivery charge came a total of $61.75. O.K., $7.00 delivery charge is insane, then asking for a tip on top of that. No F&$#’ing way is that gonna happen. Not for 3.2 Kms away from restaurant to the house. Never again. Done and done.More
This used to be the "go-to" lunch spot for Canadian style Chop Suey restaurants in Whitehorse. I don't know if the owners changed or they changed cooks, but our last few visits have left us wondering. This most recent visit was an, "I'm not bothering...to go back there again" episode. We realize that "Chinese Smorgs" don't even try to be authentic and so we don't expect it, but this is beyond acceptable. Almost every item was tasteless or sweet and greasy, and those that weren't were just downright bad tasting. The veggies tasted like they had passed their 48 hours in the fridge limit, everything was soggy. Meats were limp and tasteless. Even a little salt would have helped. This is the first time I have ever left food on my plate.More
This was really the only place within walking distance of our motel so we tried it. First, the place was empty, that should have been a tip-off. The waitress served us promptly and the menu selection of what appeared to be Chinese style food looked...good. The food arrived quickly but was very bland. I asked the waitress for some hot mustard and received a plastic bottle of Frenches Mustard. The hot green tea was very weak and also bland. I would look for other dinning options the next time around.More
We did an overnight in Whitehorse on our long journey from Dawson City back to the east coast of the US. We were very tired and as our transport from the airport to the Best Western entered the hotel lot, we saw this restaurant. As...we didn't know the city, and didn't want to walk far, we went for dinner. You won't write home about the quality/quantity of the food. It could have been served hotter. I had the shrimp chow mein and it filled me, but not the great food experience of 2018.More
Dropped by to order takeout dinner, ordered Ginger pork, bbq pork fried noodles combo When tried the ginget pork at the hotel room, it was hard like a 50 yr old jerkey. It tasted like recooked leftover from their lunch buffet, it was unedible. Had...to go back and ask for something else as replacement. The lady was apologetic about it, but its not right to serve recooked leftover as new food.More
The New Asia has great food and the service is excellent. The do a lunch smorg daily and a special smorg on Sundays. The also have combination dinners as well as individual dishes. A must try when visiting Whitehorse, Yukon.
We actually went to New Asia for Christmas Eve dinner and had an awesome time. There weren't a lot of choices and we weren't picky. We had the option of the menu or the buffet but chose the buffet. This is not gourmet Chinese food,...but it was freshly made and there was plenty of it. It was a busy night (all tables full) and staff really worked hard to make sure everyone had their fill.More
First of all, this restaurant is under new management as of about a year and a half ago. I've eaten here several times and thoroughly enjoyed the meals. I find that they prepare their food with less salt than other Chinese food restaurants (or maybe...not so much MSG?). So what at first tasted just okay, transformed into delicious with just a light sprinkle of salt. I also like the fact that the restaurant is actually CLEAN. This seems to be a rarity among Chinese food restaurants. I know the fellow who runs the place, and cleanliness (not just out front, but in the kitchen too) is one of his top priorities. I've been in other places in the past that were definitely not clean and made me wonder what the kitchen looked like.More
