Visited here for lunch on a Sunday. Place was not overly busy but steady. Staff were friendly and efficient. We both loved our donairs but wished we had ordered large rather than regular sizes. Prices seemed high but we've found that of most things in...the Yukon.More
I go there regularly for donairs and the portions are a lot smaller than they used to be and the price has gone up.I complained last time I was there but went back today and got very small portions again. I order large size and...wonder what a medium would look like?More
I’m sitting here writing this trying to eat the shawarma poutine I once recommended to friends and family, now I’m finding it hard to finish. Not sure if they are under new ownership, but the quality of the food has gone down hill since first...eating there 2 years ago. It use to be a restaurant I frequently visited a lot, and now I’m contemplating not eating there again. I use to not think twice about the cost as it is steep for what you got but the quality was there.....not any more! Save your money.More
I love donair but this place was terrible. Price is expensive too. Sauce was runny and poutine was cold.
Went to this eatery before I headed to the airport. My sister lives in Whitehorse and wanted to try it too. Greatly disappointed. I've had many good donairs, but this place fell short. Toppings to choose from were very unappetizing (dry, crusty and old looking)....Donair meat was a bit spicy...unusual. We opted to drink water from the water station and the water tasted like chemicals! Gross! The guy that took our order and cash payment assembled our donair without washing his hands!! What!?! Will definitely not be returning in the future.More
The food is so good, and every donair I've eaten is top notch delicious. The poutine is perfect and very filling; the eating area is very cozy and quaint. There's a deck for the warmer months to sit outside and enjoy a cold beer. If...you like it spicy, try the Diablo- you won't be disappointed.More
Shawarma was not great. Chicken stringy, grey and unappetizing. Toppings fresh, sauce not so much. Hummus looked like it sat out all night and hadn't been covered, they didn't care it had a crust on it. My wrap was so soggy after 10 minute drive...it couldn't be eaten. Speaks to how it is prepped. They were not ready for dinner at 5pm. Service friendly enough but the listening skills need work as does the caring about the job being done. Restaurant not a place to 'sit' and eat, maybe some do, I wouldn't.More
Had the donair. Very small and not enough sauce. Quite bland meal overall. 36$ for two donairs and a Greek salad that was also quite small. The salad was good as it was an authentic Greek salad.
Visited because of the great reviews. I found the chicken tasted more like a chicken stir fry than off a donair style skewer /grill. Service was fast and friendly.
This is for US travelers, because Canadians already know the delight of a donair, and Big Bear makes a good one! The sandwich seems to be cousins to a shawarma sandwich, although they can make it with beef, lamb, chicken and all manner of ingredients....Anyway, the people in Big Bear are friendly and will help you construct your very own delicious sandwich. You can get another burger any time, try something different!More
The food here is so full of flavour, fresh ingredients and loaded up. Highly highly recommend this place for your donair fix!! In addition amazing poutine too.
On my way from Wisconsin to Alaska my girlfriend and I stopped for the evening in Whitehorse. After walking around for awhile and chatting with the locals we ended up at this place. My suggestion, don't miss stopping in! The staff is fantastic and the...food was excellent.More
It is loaded!!! Once you start eating it you can’t put it down. There is enough of all veggies, donair and sauce - oh and the garlic in the sauce is amazing!!! Add some poutine and you are way stuffed!!! Worth it though!!!!
I tried the suicide chicken shawarma and the El Diablo Donair. Both were very spicy and good. The yam fries were really good also.
