Spent one night in this quiet relaxing environment. Pleasant staff and surroundings. Ate in the evening in the restaurant, not the a la carte, but on the basis of the catch of the day I had, am sure that anything from the menu would be...More

Dined here while on overnight stay, and must say the food was very good. The menu was varied and catered for most tastes. Prices were very reasonable.

Impressive mock fortified Manor House, good rooms with nice spacious places to relax in, comfy bed and huge bathroom! Only problem was the shower being a bit of a dribble! The food here was stunning, great breakfast and a good dinner. The staff and owners...More

Surly waitress/very slow service/dowdy surroundings /dreadful overpriced food/no atmosphere. Lots of better alternatives to eat out in nearby Bury St Edmunds. The Grange was a lot better than this in the past, but it has now deteriorated almost beyond belief.

We held my mother's wake at this hotel and it was as perfect as such an event can be. We had afternoon tea instead of the usual buffet and nothing was too much trouble for the owner or staff.

Description
Lying deep in the heart of Suffolk, The Grange Hotel and Restaurant charms from the moment you set eyes on it, the rustic, homely appearance of the building set amongst its own secluded garden area of open countryside providing a warm welcome. Before your meal, perhaps set foot in to the Lounge Bar, which opens on to the terrace and Garden, and sample the selection of fine beers whilst five chefs prepare food from the freshest ingredients for the Garden Restaurant and the Adam Room, its more formal counterpart. A la carte dining on fine British cuisine and an extensive wine list are offered, as well as grand, traditional roast lunches on Sundays.
