We stayed here for a night for our anniversary celebration (see separate review of the hotel.) The 3 course menu was £47 a head which is cheap for a country house hotel. On reflection we wish it had been a £100 a head meal with...More

What a fabulous place. We were recommended to go by friends, who frankly did us a huge favour. The weather was poor but the gardens still looked amazing on the drive in. The welcome we received was warm and friendly from well presented fun staff...More

We came here for afternoon tea (£20 each, £30 with champagne), and had a lovely afternoon. We were able to sit outside as the weather was nice, and the views are beautiful! The food was lovely, and the hot drinks are refillable which is nice....More

This was a pre-booked trip out with friends who lived on the other side of Dartmoor. What a lovely place to visit. Beautiful gardens, down to the river where guests were fishing, a lovely Edwardian hunting lodge with a homely feel. Lunch was amazing and...More

On arrival the grounds were open for the local church and was heaving - despite this we had a lovely light lunch on the terrace. Two dinners were excellent plenty of choice , interesting marinaded sardine starter and lots of originality with nice table arrangements...More

We have been here a couple of times for cream tea (special occasions) and can't fault the whole experience. The food is good quality and the buffet style cake table in the library is perfect for a sweet tooth person like me! Yes it may...More

This was our first visit to this charming hotel. We were there for dinner. It is a stunning place set in beautiful grounds. Clearly no money is spared on the upkeep, appearance and maintence etc. However perhaps the same cannot be said for staffing levels....More

The food is typically imaginative but very well-prepared and truly delicious. Lamb and chicken were melt in the mouth tender. But one small dipping bowl of olive oil for every four to six people isn't enough, water glasses weren't kept filled, drink orders weren't taken...More

I discovered, after my last review stating that no one had tried to contact me back regarding my experience having afternoon tea, that the manager had in fact emailed me but it had not gone into my primary inbox. The way my complaint was dealt...More

I would agree with the above reply. When booking just mention the gluten free and they will do their best to accommodate you. I always comment on a friend's nut allergy and they always have a few choices for her on a... More

Hotel Endsleigh dining room is a superbly stylish, historic spot on the edge of Dartmoor with unmatched views, the sister hotel of the superhot Tresanton in Cornwall. Hip designer Olga Polizzi has winningly brought the historic Grade I shooting and fishing lodge into the 21st century while honouring its Regency soul and it is run by her perfectionist daughter Alex Polizzi. The elegant wood-panelled dining room with the Duke of Bedford and friends family crests looks out onto the Humphrey Repton garden. Chef Christopher Dyke uses local and regional produce to devise his English menu complemented by a thoughtful international wine list. This is country house cool.
