I had seen pictures on a number of occasions in the national press of David and Samantha sitting at the front of this cafe so we popped in to find out if it was special but found it to was rather basic.

Take away hot drinks and £1 re-fills make this the best value hot drinks on the beach. The wood fired oven pizzas are great - but do be prepared to wait for them. Aside from the above this is an overpriced beach chippy.

Jan 1st visit with our two 3yr olds and the Cafe was almost empty. As there was no one sitting outside and no 'sandwich board' or obvious 'open' sign maybe some people made the assumption we initially had that the Cafe was closed. Anywho... Good menu and although the milkshakes for the girls weren't amazing the hot food was really... More

It's now an annual ritual for us to go to Polzeath beach on New Year's day & pop into the Galleon Cafe for a Surfers' full English breakfast. Egg, bacon, baked beans, hash browns, chipolatas & toast all washed down with steaming hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate followed by a walk on the beach & a paddle in the... More

We were newcomers to Polzeath and after a good morning on the beach we needed food. Looking around there wasn't really a huge choice on the waterfront on a Sunday morning - don't know if there is generally more choice? Anyway we went to the Galleon, ordered tea and coffees, paninis for four of us. A little wait and food... More

I'll keep it brief, like my visit! Why do us Brits put up with this overpriced, poorly presented, disappointing muck, just because it's by the seaside? Unless you are a surfer (or property developer) Polzeath is everything that's wrong with holidays in the U.K.! Even the stunning location is spoilt by the unchecked spread of the building work. Watched a... More

Ordered teas and bacon roll/hot dog. After a few minutes went back in and they had forgotten the teas. Waited and waited for e food and after 20 minutes went in and asked. Was told 2 minutes. After about 5 minutes, food came and was very nice. But seriously, there were only 2 other people waiting for food so why... More

Situated on the beach at Polzeath, this is an ideal cafe to visit, especially if you like surfing too! We have been coming to this cafe for over 40 years, and it is a firm favourite with our children and grandchildren. You get good service and the food is just what you want if you are on a surfing holiday!
