We were treated to a meal here by our daughter and partner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We chose it as it had been featured in the Waitrose magazine for producing genuine Italian (Sicilian) cuisine; and the food did not disappoint. Well prepared and presented with an adequate early bird menu and a very good a la carte menu. Food... More

What an evening, what a welcome! We came here about 10 years ago and not had a chance again due to kids! First time we have had a meal together child free for a long time. I treated my husband as he has looked after us all for 7 weeks since I broke my ankle. From the minute we walked... More

We've driven past so many times and finally got the opportunity to go for our anniversary. It really didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic, as was the service. It's clear that they really do care about what they put forward, both in terms of quality and authenticity. Great wine list and digestives (limoncello was a great reminder of being in... More

La vera parmigiana di melanzane! This was always the 'welcome home' dish my mother cooked for me when I went home to Italy. Last nights offering in Da Piero made me fall in love with the dish all over again and dare I say much lighter and fresher than Mamma used to make! Followed by the best home made gnocchi... More

Having read the fabulous reviews for this restaurant we booked on the merits of the positive comments. Unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed with the food and the service was nothing special. There was no atmosphere, we were a reasonable sized table there were only two other people dining which makes you think if the it is as good as the... More

I rarely give 5 star reviews, but when a restaurant does exactly what it suggests it will, and does it without pretensions, it's fully deserving. I had the Brawn with mixed peppers, followed by Bucatini a la Amatriciana. The brawn was utterly delicious, with peppers laced in olive oil, balsamic and garlic, and the Amatriciana was as good as I... More

Every mouthful oozed flavour. So much effort, thought and care has clearly gone into crafting their dish components. The delicious home-made bread and home-made Sicilian sausage I ate were testament to this. The menu was really interesting, something I'd expect to come across in the city, it's a delight to have something at this level on the Wirral! Dawn made... More

Food like it should be. It's that little Italian restaurant you stumbled upon during your unforgettable holiday and will remember forever. The service is friendly and helpful. But the food. The food ! The food! Romance on a plate and in a glass. The big question is: why are there not queues down the street ? Why are people in... More

This little Italian restaurant is fabulous. Piero , Dawn and Alan are the owners with Dawn front of house and Piero and Alan cooking. All ingredients are local or brought in from Sicily and the food is quite exceptional. Pam had the tuna tartare, very juicy and fabulous and I had the carpaccio spada, sword fish cooked with lemon juice,... More
