Came here with high hopes having read some of the reviews and was a little disappointed. The staff and the setting was nice. The bread delicious, but the main meals a bit disappointing. I had a 'trio' of fish which consisted of 2 pieces of cod and a small lobster tail. My partner had the lamb which was quite fatty.... More

We had a nice lunch with a big group of 20 people - conveniently seated upstairs in a pre ordered meal. Food was great, delicious local lamb chops cooked to perfection, amazing hot chocolate fountain with ice cream are to be recommended . I believe the cod was a good option for those favoring a light meal. Shame that we... More

Busy and slow (not in a bad way) service but good food. Very attentive. Good ambience. I wish it was a bit more local but then I'm a tourist...

We went there to eat some fresh seafood. We arrived in the early evening before peek hour but the service was not very smooth. The food was good, but the lobster pasta (catch of the day) had very little lobster in it. Overall it's not a bad place, but considering the prices I expected something more remarkable.

We were having a day out from Reykjavik and visited the maritime museum and old house in this small previous fishing settlement. Then came lunchtime. We were delighted to find a top class restaurant away from the tourist circuit. Lobster bisque and fish chowder were special, and when seconds were offered how could we say no?

Stopped here for lunch one day. Service was excellent. Very attentive without being overly so. Food was very good. Lots of options for people who have gluten allergies. Ambiance is very nice. Classy. Would happily eat here again.

Stopped in Eyrarbakki after visiting Strandarkirkja on our way to Vík. Rauda Husid was a great choice for lunch, especially for their lobster soup and homemade bread with hummus and, of course, delicious Icelandic butter! The dining room in the historic red house was filled with light and warmth. It seemed like a popular spot with visitors and locals alike.

This is the restaurant in Eyrarbakki. Look for the big red house! I stopped in for a late dinner in the spring, and was pleased even though the service was a bit slow. I ordered the fish of the day (always a safe bet when in Iceland), which was seasoned and cooked to perfection.
