We had to visit this restaurant twice in our 4-night stay in Newlyn because the food was as nice as any we’d ever tasted. With a log fire, relaxing bar area and cosy restaurant, a warm welcome awaits you. The menu is simple, but all...More

Nice atmosphere, good service, tasty food, but very small portions for the price. Also ordered a glass of wine which felt over-priced.

We have been here before and the food was superb. Went with 6 people on December 30th and not a good experience as they had overbooked and Kitchen and Staff were under pressure. Starters of Mackerel and Plaice were great but arrived at 8.45pm which...More

Newlyn. Effectively a seaside suburb of Penzance. Fishing port. The Tolcarne Inn is a small, old pub-like restaurant with a variety of tables jostling around a bar. The atmosphere is relaxed, the menu is chalked up and only the wine list is printed. No chips....More

A stand out pub. Unassuming and tucked into the Newlyn back streets, The Tolcarne delivers excellent food. The sea USA metres away... the fish could not be fresher. Good value because the quality is so high.

The Tolcarne Inn is amazing and the chef is doing marvelous work with fresh, local fish caught by neighborhood fishermen! We were there for dinner and stopped in for a beer a couple days later. The menu changes daily according to what's being caught, and...More

This place is a must if you are in Cornwall. We visited on a Monday night and it was popular even then. The home made bread - cooked daily - was some of the best I have ever had. My husband and I, unusually, ate...More

We have eaten here twice now and on both occasions the food was simply outstanding. If you are in this neck of the woods and you like good food look no further.

Yes. We visited in February for lunch. It's quite a traditional unpretentious pub and as good for a pint as a meal. Imagine it's much busier this time of year but our dog was very welcome anywhere in the bar area.
