Rio Bec Dreams serves the best food. It's fresh delicious and affordable, fun hosts and environment. Be sure and start with a delicious drink at the bar before dinner. Lots of fun visiting with other travelers and sharing experiences.

The food in the restaurant is 'International Cuisine' and very high quality. I think I would have enjoyed it more towards the end of our trip when I was getting a bit fed up with authentic Mexican food! The standard of food and service is extremely high.

First of all the owners were drunk early on. The food, I had the shrimp, was about as bland as it could be, this is Mexico, and being on the highway it was noisy. We asked about accommodations in Mahahual and when we decided not to stay at their recommended place my wife got a nasty email. These people need... More

Diane and Rick have a real treasure in the middle of the Calakmul Biosphere. In addition to ruin hunting, Diane and staff whip up some of the most amazing dishes in a remote part of the world. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. Cocktail hour is a wonderful way to meet some of the most interesting people you will... More

Our stay at Rio Bec Dreams was a wonderful experience. We were delighted with the Jungaloo we stayed in and the friendly owners and staff made our stay most memorable. Our dinner at the resort was extremely delicious the tables set up under a large palapa. The salad of goats cheese and avocado was amazing…cheers to the chef. The whole... More

I can't say enough positive things about the Rio Bec Dreams. Diane, the owner, is an amazing lady. My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Rio Bec Dreams. My boyfriend was planning on proposing to me at Calakmul on our second day and told Diane the night before about his plans. After he proposed we drove back to... More

My wife and I stayed at Rio Bec Dreams for one night prior to our visit to the Calakmul Ruins in a bungalow with a private bathroom. We were unsure of exactly what to expect from our 'jungalow' in what is quite a 'remote' (i.e. further south and west than the more frequent tourist spots in the Yucatan) area, surrounded... More

I already reviewed the hotel quite positively and may have made some mention of the food, a few times.... If you did not catch that hotel review let me repeat that we had the great luck of being able to experience the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Feast that Diane, Rick and Kate prepared for their guests. Nothing short of... More
