Having had a lovely Sunday lunch (Bank Holiday Sunday) including 4 children under 12 which was a great success, I booked again for last Sunday 21st November. I had made the booking about 2/3 weeks before and particularly requested a table in the old part...as the noise level in the new restaurant made it almost impossible to hold a conversation and we'd not seen our guests for a long time due to "lockdown". However when we arrived we were told there were no tables available in the old pub. Rather than make a "fuss" we had two tables put together in the main restaurant and, as usual the food was excellent and the staff efficient and polite but the noise level made it impossible to have a chat. By 3.30 people had started to leave and we were able to chat over our desserts. Everyone we have brought with us wants to come again and we will certainly be coming mid-week but please next time can we sit in the Bar ? !!! Regards, MarionMore

Vegetarian pies are usually an afterthought, but not at the Cherry Tree. Succulent filling and pastry equal to the meat eater's options. Lovely pub just a stone's throw from Rochford, great atmosphere; lovely, friendly staff and a very tempting array of desserts on their cake...counter.More

This restaurant is not vegan friendly! We visited to celebrate two family birthdays. The service was extremely slow and non attentive. Two members of the party are vegan, no options were listed on the menu. When asked the waitress had to speak to the chef...and the only option was an avocado & mushroom stack. This was literally just an avocado, mushroom and broccoli in a tomato sauce. No thought had gone into this. We asked to have some potatoes with it, which we were charged for. No vegan options at all for starter or dessert. They did provide soya milk hot chocolate. Left still feeling hungry, what a rip off…More

Mums 69th birthday, with 6 eating. Was never seated at our table, was told that there was a round table round the corner that was ours for us to find. Never had this before when eating out. Service took so long on all aspects of...the meal that it made it unenjoyable. Food itself was average. The chocolate brownie was very dry and needed more ice cream. Shame as this was for my mums birthday. Won’t be returningMore

Good Morning Jimmy, I am assuming you are talking about the round table that you pointed at? So surely that would mean it wasn't difficult to find at all as you already knew where it was? I had you down for another table however accommodated...More
