Been here a few times and sometimes bar service was very lax. However today the staff bar service has pushed me to review! Two staff at bar! One serving a customer and the second finishing off card transaction for man next to me. Once the...man next to me walked away the barmaid standing straight in front of me turned and walked away without a word? The other barman walked straight passed me without a word up the other end of bar. ( there was no one else at bar waiting to be served! WOW. the barmaid then walks back into the bar area and as stone faced as you like asks “ what can I get you? “ Lol. New bar staff would be a start! Is Chislehurst dropping standards. ( one customer remarked to me that he has waited 2hrs for food?) Sorry Queens Head but you need to up your game or your foot fall will dry up!More

Went in for a lunchtime pint and a sandwich. Of the choice of six sandwiches had to settle for my third choice as first two not available. Beer good. But do not appreciate being called 'Mate' by the barman or 'Darling' by the waitressMore

We were very nervous about trying this pub again after our 3 previous disappointing visits but in view of the attractive location and interior we decided to give it one more try. We received a very friendly reception and our drinks and starter arrived promptly...and hot. Not long to wait for our mains my pie was piping hot although the vegetables could have been a bit warmer. Plenty of nice salad with my companions meal so we were both pleasantly surprised. If they can keep this improvement up we will definitely be back.More

Lovely looking pub in a prime location, it has so much potential. However almost every time we go there is a problem. Sometimes it is excessively long waits (either in quiet times or busy, as if they are always short staffed), other times they are...out of half the items on the menu. Another occasion they simply weren’t doing food due to other unforeseen problems. having booked a table, we get there only to be told they aren’t doing food for at least 20 minutes to half an hour. So we booked a table with no food- no explanation as to why. We were then told that there were no roasts (which was what we went there for) due to delivery issues. We go to other Embers Inn pubs in the surrounding area and they never seem to have quite as many issues as this one, which leads me to think it’s a management issue. Staff are friendly but it’s exasperating that there always seems to be some kind of problem with food/kitchenMore

Beer was good, food was terrible. Ordered a beef roast. It turned up missing Yorkshire pudding and had to wait a hour. To be fair staff did inform us their was a wait, I didn't mind but expected the full roast. Any lovers of roast...potatoes would be disappointed but I suppose you get what you pay for, it was only £10More

Dropped in for lunch and the Chislehurst fete was on so busy and while the barman was hassled he had time to talk, listen and serve us so great visit. Food was fresh tasty and reasonably priced so well worth a visit
