Having visited a year ago and been served a lovely prawn sandwich we decided to take our mum for lunch there.. we chose a table with a sun shade as I have vitiligo so can't sit in the sun... we went in to order lunch only to be told that they only had ready made rolls... we asked for a... More

I am sorry you were disappointed with your visit. We have made some changes to our menu this year and now are making freshly made up baps daily rather than sandwiches to order. They are made every morning with fresh baps delivered by our local bakery, I am sorry that the ones you had were not to your taste, but... More

I am sorry your visit was disappointing - we have been making huge improvements to our food quality this year and are having very positive feedback in the café. During peak periods there can be a wait I am afraid, we are an extremely busy café and my staff do their utmost to serve food as soon as possible, however... More

I have been here once before which was lovely so popped in on Saturday morning for a hearty breakfast. We sat outside to enjoy the weather and the wonderful view of the lakes and numerous ducks and geese. Beautifully kept grounds. Lovely breakfast, the full English is exactly that, served to us with a smile at our table. Good value... More

Lovely view but what spoilt it for us was the undercooked bacon it looked like it had been boiled couple of the sausages looked raw & needed a lot more cooking time the eggs was hard and not good. It's a shame as 6 of us at paid a near fifty quid wasn't happy.

Thank you for reviewing our café. I am pleased that you enjoyed the view but disappointed obviously that the breakfast was not to your liking. I was working myself in the café yesterday and to my knowledge no one complained about the food - did you mention your dissatisfaction to any of my staff? We would always try and ensure... More

I last wrote a review of this establishment in October 2014 and have visited the Waterside Cafe many times since. It is a very pleasant place to eat and drink, especially if the weather is warm and sunny and you can sit outside overlooking the main Carp lake with its interesting variety of swans, ducks and geese. Today we arrived... More

Thank you for your positive comments about our café and fish farm. I am glad that you enjoyed your visit this time and on previous occasions. The eggs and bacon for our breakfasts is cooked on a griddle and no additional oil/fat is used to cook them. The sausages are cooked in the oven, again involving no additional fat. It... More

Had a really lovely lunch yesterday at the Cafe, had a delicious pan fried salmon special! Sadly our experience was slightly marred by an embarrassing outburst from what seemed to be the owner, swearing and kicking up a fuss over ordering his lunch. Would definitely recommend the food and the other staff were very pleasant.

I so pleased that you had a lovely lunch in our café and were pleased with the quality of our food and service. My husband is a volatile personality who demands high standards and he is capable of complaining bitterly when things are not to the standard he expects. He assures me his outburst was conducted out of the earshot... More

Pleasant setting by the fishing lake. The staff looked after us very well. The food uses good quality ingredients and has a range to suit all tastes - much better than your standard sandwich and burger style menu. One thing they could improve is the chips - with the amount they serve it would be so good if they did... More

Hardly any choice for a vegetarian and little care to provide anything to accommodate dietary requirements. The cafe could not even provide something as simple as a cheese and coleslaw sandwich (baguettes were too exotic for them too). When questioning whether the mozzarella was vegetarian, the clueless assistant thought it was made with goats cheese!!! Have previously eaten here and... More

I am sorry you were disappointed with your visit. I would dispute that there is little on offer for vegetarians. We offer a vegetarian breakfast, a quiche permanently on our menu which is a three cheese and onion flan, there is Welsh Rarebit and assorted cheese ploughman's. We have daily specials that can be made suitable for vegetarians. Our Menu... More
