A must visit for great food. Mid week visit with friends, very reasonably priced and good service. Lovely staff who made you feel welcome. We did not book but it would be advisable for a weekend visit.

We both had the Steak & Ale pie and it was superb: home-made not reheated, with massive helpings (no room for a pud!), thick gravy, good chips and veg. We were also impressed by the friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Yes they are. When the was at the Artichoke a customer was there with his faithful friend. I asked the landlady about this and she told me that this dog was a very welcome visitor to the pub. Hope this helps.
