Called on Sunday and had an excellent roast dinner, the beef was wonderful. Proper home cooked food with no microwave in sight!! Good beer, friendly welcoming staff and a real log fire - what's not to love??

Excellent food good value for money . Warm and friendly atmosphere. Hunters chicken was the tastiest ever and the pie of the week was enjoyed by himself, his only complaint was it was too hot
Stopped here for the trackrod rally at the start of october for two nights. Best steak i've had in a long time, lovely friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone!
Had a great meal with my brother in this perfect pub. first time I have ever had deep fried Black Pudding and it is wonderful. The beer is very well kept.

Went for a pre-booked evening meal. Very few staff on, just one harassed bar maid/waitress for the whole pub. She came over as unfriendly but I think she was just stressed. The meals took an hour to come and were decidedly average. The fish was...More
Typical country pub, walked in on a Thursday evening to be welcomed by a warm welcome by the staff. The thick soup was delicious. The fillet steak was tender and cooked just to our liking. Thanks for looking after us so well.
