The eating area is well decorated and the lady who served us was friendly. The food was very good. BUT it may be better if the dining area was separated from the bar by a wall or a heavy door, as our overall experience was spoilt by a very loud and noisy group in the bar.

Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was one of a busy local with a smattering of tourists like us. We had booked for Sunday lunch and had been 'saved' enough meat (before the waitress knew we had booked we were initially told there weren't any roasts left). Good choice of chicken, lamb and beef, all of which were enormous portions... More

We went to visit Dudle Door, and we found this restaurant in the way... the reviews were good so decided to have lunch there. Really impressed! Very kind staff, the food was really nice and good quality and it wasn't expensive!! I would definitely come back if I visit the area again.

Relatives recently moved to this area and took my wife and I there for Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly and make you welcome. Lunch was excellent - the best pub lunch I have had for many years. Everything was piping hot. Pub itself is very good. You probably need to book for lunch as it was quite busy when we... More

Visiting local attractions and turned to TripAdvisor looking for food! Not disappointed by this pub at all. We has a warm welcome from the barmaid and were attended to by a lovely lady (I think the sister of the owner), she was warm, welcoming and quite the nice kind of cheeky!! Food was delicious, just what was needed for a... More

The atmosphere is more tea room than the pub I'd expected. Table service from a pleasant young woman. I chose one of the day's soups-spicy beef and bean, which was delicious and served with a warm baguette. I also chose a side of onion rings with garlic mayo! Really special, and easily enough to share. I'd definitely recommend this place.... More

We took the best rated pub closest to Monkey World. Unfortunately, I don't see how this pub has such a high rating. OK, the positives, a friendly staff that gave us a private corner. The negative, the food. The chicken schnitzel was burnt on both sides and bone dry, the pork schnitzel was burnt, but luckily still moist and the... More

Found this little village pub by accident after finding we had an hours wait until the next train after visiting monkey world. I can literally sum it up as one of my most favourite eating experiences. The food was all genuinely homemade, the best roast dinner we've ever had. The service was efficient, the girls working there were polite and... More
