Our friend raves about this place so we tried it out as we usually eat out regularly and have got to know the best places to eat. Ordered a 7.50 pate. This arrived as more a cold sausage meat loaf with black pudding running through it. Nothing like pate whatsoever. Not spreadable. Tasted awful and not I expected. Then arrived... More

We popped in to have lunch at The Fox as it was halfway between home and a match our son was playing in and it proved to be an excellent choice. Lovely food, great staff who were friendly and a laugh as well as efficient and just a lovely environment. I wish we lived nearer to go back regularly.

This is more a gastro pub. The food is really good as is the service. The village is tiny and the Fox tucked away. It's a place worth finding. Booking is a must. This is a very popular place.

We used to visit The Fox at Farthinghoe often but we felt it went "off" and had lost its way. I had heard that things had improved and so we visited for lunch and, although the food was ok, we felt that it was very overpriced (just under £12.00 for macaroni cheese) and lacked atmosphere. What also didn't help was... More

As a party of 8, we were asked to pre-order our mains and starters. When requesting advanced details of "specials" (eg the nature of the Pie listed on the menu) the response was "I don't know yet" which was rather less than helpful; having pre-ordered, we had anticipated a somewhat slick service, but sadly meals came out in batches, there... Visited for dinner, a warm and friendly welcome from the staff, a varied menu with daily specials. The food was very good and the pub had a good atmosphere.

Called in for lunch on a Wednesday and found the fire lit and welcoming staff. We all chose steak , which was very tasty . The sticky toffee pud, was a big portion and delicious. The bottle of Sauvignon was well-priced at £16.50.

We have visited The Fox a number of times, and have never been disappointed. They have a good food and wine menu, the staff are friendly and the food is very good.

The best roast turkey meal I ever had. 2 days before Christmas I thought I better reserve a table just in case. There were sufficient parking and the place was easy to find. The restaurant was lovely. Modern and clean. Not cluttered with jugs and pictures of God only knows what. Why? This place is tidy and full of natural... More

The worst Turkey dinner ever! The meat was some sort of rolled up turkey, tasteless and chewy. No stuffing! The roast potatoes we're obviously cooked earlier then reheated and the sprouts rock hard. The whole meal was only lukewarm , if the chef isn't up to catering for 21 people, they shouldn't take the booking. Such a pity as the... More

Thank you for your review. This does come as some surprise as the other 20 customers seemed very happy with their meals, and left a very generous tip. We received no negative reviews on the evening, and we don't re heat anything. I'm sorry you were disappointed, and would have gladly changed your meal had any problem been reported or... More
