We had a lovely dinner to celebrate a belated birthday for my wife. The welcome was warm and the atmosphere convivial for a very pleasant evening. Although we are not strictly vegetarian we had no difficulty in choosing from the simple menu and wine list....The staff were friendly and efficient and contributed to our overall experience. This was our first visit to Cafe Roya and I can't wait to go again. The food was truly delicious, from the starters, the main courses and desserts not one bit disappointed. The service and atmosphere was perfect too - if you are in Nottingham...this is one restaurant experience you shouldn't miss. I am not vegetarian but with food like this I could be converted.More
A great meal on Halloween. As always the food was wonderful and the service great. The Rolled Dahl was amazing. This must be the best restaurant in Nottingham!!!

Fantastic food and service, we enjoyed starters, mains and desserts, they were all beautifully presented, and delicious, the staff were all friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend. We travelled from Sheffield and will definitely return, thank you to all the staff.
Four of us visited on a Saturday evening having booked in advance. The food is always wonderful and it was again on this visit. We enjoyed 3 great courses from a range of really creative and beautifully crafted dishes. I had the Cinnamon and New...Potato Tacos, followed by Paneer in a Spinach and Fenugreek sauce and a lovely Almond Baklava served with Pistachio kulfi to finish - so good!! The service was again excellent from the really helpful and friendly staff on what was a busy evening in the restaurant. The menu changes each month which helps to keep bringing you back. A good spot for vegetarian cuisine. Attentive staff, a limited but interesting menu. The waitress was lovely. I would have rated this with a 5 but for the slower serving of our main course. The waitress was proactive in offering us delicious olives and nuts...whilst we waited. The only thing, not a complaint, was that our main wasn’t served with quinoa as per the menu but nevertheless it was superb We loved the chocolate coconut balls served with our bill. These were outstanding. Overall, excellent food and great service.More

We enjoyed a range of dishes across Starters, Main and Desserts each of which were beautifully presented. The blend of...ingredients created a really flavoursome set of courses which were so good. The food here is just fabulous. As a vegetarian of some 40 years this is the best selection I’ve seen. I had the ‘beefy’ wellington which was delicious followed by Christmas bread and butter pudding. Divine. Nice wine at a reasonable price and attentive staff....Deserves its reputation as a top notch place. Highly recommended.More
I am not a vegetarian, however I am trying to reduce meat and poultry from my diet. I found this restaurant on the web and even though it is around a 30 minute drive, it was well worth it. The menu is small with a...few specials but for me that is a sign of a good restaurant and boy does this place serve up great food. I couldn’t fault anything about the food, staff or interior. It is a long time since I enjoyed a meal out but this places get a 10/10 and I can assure you we will be back and next time it will be with friends Paul & LisaMore
This is the best vegetarian restaurant in Nottingham. The menu is inventive and seasonal. All ingredients are ethically sourced. The food is delicious, tasty, and beautifully presented.
We visited the cafe Roya a year or two ago and had an amazing meal and so was very much looking forward to going back finally. Unfortunately though we came out very disappointed. The Mexican special felt more like a meal like I’d put together...if I was lacking inspiration and I’m certainly no chef. Mediocre, bland and simply not worth the price paid. I really hope we simply caught it on a bad evening but I’d be reluctant to go back for some timeMore

Dinner for 5 with my baby sister. The weather was superb so we sat outside. We live in Spain and prior to our visit to Café Roya yesterday evening my favourite vegan restaurant was in Tarragona Spain. The Café Roya is on another level of...excellent, superb vegan food, superbly presented, I had three courses and was absolutely blown away by every mouthful.More
