We enjoyed a 3 course lunch here on the day before lockdown V.2. The house is comfortable, light, and airy and the dining room has a great view of the pretty garden. I had a glass of champagne on arrival which was served in the...drawing room. The staff were all charming. We both had the monkfish starter which was cooked to perfection. I had the lamb which was cooked to my specification, husband had the duck. Both were delicious. I had a very generous cheeseboard and my husband had apple tarts tatin. We had an excellent bottle of wine. This is an excellent place for a leisurely lunch, and we’ll definitely be back next time we visit the area.More

We were looking forward to our lunch after reading reviews online. We were not disappointed. The scallops, beef and deer were tasty and beautifully presented. The puddings were good too, especially the chocolate board. The tarte tatin had too much brandy and left a bitter...aftertaste. Still, overall we were impressed. The reasons we did not give 5 stars was purely down to the service. We needed to ask repeatedly for water and wine. Before the end of the meal the staff seemed to disappear so we had to hunt them down for the bill. On leaving, again, no staff in sight. The food could easily be Michelin quality, but the service has a very, very long way to go. One last point, please update your online wine list to the actual one on offer.More

What a beautiful stay! We visited for an overnight including champagne on arrival, dinner, and breakfast. The team have the most meticulous response to the pandemic that we have seen anywhere, and the friendly service stands out across the owners and the whole team. The...food was absolutely amazing. All 3 courses presented to top standards, and tasted delicious. The grounds are also beautiful and the quality of the room was in keeping with everything else, right down to the luxury bedding.More

We love this tiny piece of heaven, such a real treat to be pampered and feel like a star for a while, the girls are very polite and attentive and will make you feel welcome and you can relax, the wine list is extensive and...indeed refined. The food is what I would call classical modern, the textures and tastes are all superb right down to the homemade rolls and petit fours. Emma the owner is charming and funny and greets you like an old friend, this completes your experience of the little Barwick. Oh and did I say that the house and grounds take you away to a different time.More

They do, as in they do not say adults only but I would give them a ring and see what they can do for you. Ask for Emma. It depends on how fussy the little appetites are!
