Excellent food with large portions in an old pub that's been tastefully modernised without losing its character. Very friendy and almost perfect service, all at very reasonable prices. Popular even on a cold Monday evening in February.

We went as a large group for Sunday lunch. The produce is local and the portion size generous. I've never had a bad meal here and heartily recommend you try it. It's advisable to book on a weekend.

Just passing on a drive out and called in for a drink, however the food looked so good we stayed for lunch and were not disappointed. Excellent restaurant quality choices on the menu as well as tasty sandwiches for those less hungry. Lovely pub in a very pretty location and extremely friendly. Great find, will be back :)

This is truly a farm to fork operation.. This family own the farm , butcher the meat , cook the food fresh , serve it to perfection..I had a daily special sirloin on the bone which was so huge I could only eat half of it ..I was so embarrassed ..and the steak was cooked to perfection ..our entire party... Locaiton seems isolated but is only 10 mins from the A64. Friendly staff, prompt service (In spite of being just behind a party of 12) and excellent food including a ploughman's with freshly cooked steak! Prices perhaps a little above average for the area but well worth it for the quality.

Thank flipper2

The Blacksmiths Arms is a 300 year old country pub situated in the pretty rural village of Westow between York and Malton which has been bought by a local farming family. It boasts many charming features such as exposed beams, roaring log burners and original bread oven. The pub has recently gone through a refurbishment with a modern twist whilst maintaining it's country charm. We are a family run business and pride ourselves on our friendly service, fine wines, real ales and fabulous home made, locally sourced food. As well as individual dining we are also pleased to cater for parties, i.e. small weddings, christenings, shooting parties & birthdays. We also offer a takeaway service - Please enquire withinGift vouchers are also available.
