They make the best cafe latte, and according to my sister the best roasted chicken on salad. Cute place with a lovely outside seating area.

It a really nice spot. Went there after the play. The Kite . We had lattes. Very good. Nice workers serving.
We were staying in Rosebud at an Airbnb, mostly because everything in Drumheller is so expensive. We could not have been happier with our choice. Not only was the Airbnb excellent, but we found this phenomenal little family owned restaurant right around the corner. Everything...in Rosebud is a stone's throw from everything else, so it's really nice after a long day hiking and exploring the valley to be able to just hop across the street for supper. The staff at the cafe were all family. They were so friendly and attentive when we came in. They welcomed us and chatted with us about the local community. They took our order quickly. There is a great selection of salads and a wide variety of hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches on the menu. Not the kinds of hot dogs and hamburgers you see everywhere else, but unique flavour and ingredient combinations that really interested us. They also have a great selection of craft beer from breweries in southern Alberta. My middle child had the Hot Hot Dog. It was absolutely delicious. My daughter, our youngest, and who is super fussy, had the cheese pizza and devoured it. That was one of the best cheese pizzas I've ever tasted. Perfectly done hand made crust with just the right amount of cheese broiled on top. Our oldest had the Philly cheese steak which was so loaded with goodness it was a sight to behold. My wife had the Reuben which we both agreed was honestly one of the best Reubens we've both ever tasted. And I had the Thorny Rose burger. It was a behemoth with sun dried tomatoes, purple cabbage, avocado, and Alberta need. It was ridiculously tasty. We were all so satisfied and stuffed when we were done. The food came out really quickly for what was clearly homemade. Service was great the whole time. The only regret we had is that we were so full after eating our meal that we had no room for the gorgeous looking homemade pies in their dessert case. If you're in Drumheller, I'd honestly take the drive out to Rosebud to try this place. It's worth it.More

Thank you for your kind words. And happy you injoyed your self.
We had a really nice lunch at The Thorny Rose Cafe in Rosebud! The food was fresh & tasty and the lady (owner?) was very friendly. We sat outside in a nice garden setting while enjoying our lunch and the hot weather. A good variety...on the menu including sandwiches, pizza and delicious desserts. Oh! and the milkshakes!!! Will definately visit next time we are in Rosebud!!More
A terrific spot for pie or a lunch during the year, if you driving through this beautiful countryside. Great for a snack after the theatre shows.
Stopped here on our trip to see a play at the Rosebud Theatre. Had a piece of apple pie on the recommendation of another customer and really glad I did as it was fantastic. Tart but moist apples & the crust was light & flaky....Also, had a London Fog that was excellent! Eclectic but comfortable little cafe with some clothing & books for sale upstairs in this neat old house that's been converted to a cafe.More
We loved the Thorny Rose Cafe! A little hidden gem in the heart of the badlands. No visit to Rosebud would be complete without dinner at the Thorny Rose! Our favourite menu item was the chicken pot pie with a side of strawberry pecan salad....Now that I can't eat gluten or nuts due to allergies it's not an option for me, but I have very fond memories of this delicous treat! The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and artistic being in the centre of the Rosebud theatre community. If you like a comfortable environment, friendly staff, good food, and good times then this is the place to go!More
Stopped at the Thorny Rose for a snack while on the road. One of us had a bowl of soup; the other had a chocolate shake. Both were delicious. The atmosphere was hospitable, fun and a little on the funky side.
Attended at the restaurant the day Rosebud held their 15 minutes of fame - musical festival - service fantastic, people warm and wonderful and food absolutely great.
Our group took in a Friday afternoon play at the theatre. The food there is belly-busting, so a few of us needed some good coffee for the bus ride home. This place is beautiful, very inviting, and even though there was a little rush for...coffees, everybody got theirs in time. My pumpkin spice latte was delicious. The menu looks really good, and they have a good selection of snacks. Next time I'm in Rosebud, I will stop by here again! For those just exploring the area, check out their hours and see if they are open!More
Great casual jam sesh by very talented musicians from the town and the play in intimate setting. Good craft beer and cider on sale and evidently decent meals (but we didn’t eat there)
We arrived in Rosebud after seven and the owner of the Rosebud Inn called this cafe and they assured us we could get dinner as long as we arrived before 8 pm. Rosebud is small so we walked over and weren’t sure we would like...it but with no other options gave it a go. Orders are taken at the counter and we selected a seat on the indoor patio area. We opted for lasagna and the chicken pot pie, each served with a generous salad. We enjoyed both entrees. The wait staff were very friendly and were generally surprised to get such a good meal in such a tiny town. If you find yourself in Rosebud (hopefully staying st the Rosebud Inn versus the chain hotels in Drumheller), do try this cafe.!More
This is a great little spot to have coffee, tea, alcohol and/or a snack before attending a Rosebud Theatre performance. It would also be a wonderful reward after a day of hiking and exploring the beautiful badlands landscape. There is room to sit inside or...outside this converted house. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing.More
