We have dined here many times and always thoroughly enjoyed the food. Just dined there this last weekend and was very disappointed. The escargot was tasteless with a think blanket of barely warm cheese. The greek salad was not at all what I would expect...from Davison's but rather a fast food chain. The prime rib was ok but definitely not what I have experienced before. The bruschetta was soggy and the flavour was overwhelmed by heavy olive oil. I hope this last visit is an anomaly as I would hate to lose Davison's as one of my favourite places to dine.More

Had dinner here. Beautiful restaurant. Food was o.k - nothing special. Service was very poor. Waited for many minutes for 1st round of drinks, they forgot our second round. Were they busy? No - just a few of us there. I will go back to...see if it was a one off event or this place is just like that. I left more than a little underwhelmed. I know they can do better.More

We reached out to Dan with little more then 2 weeks notice during a Pandemic to host my daughters Wedding Reception. What can I say, he and his staff pulled out all the stops! As a small intimate group of guests attended Dan made sure...our experience left us with lifelong memories. The food the service and atmosphere was exactly what we all needed during this difficult year. Thank you Dan !More

My family went on Saturday November 14 for a late lunch. I have never been compelled to write a restaurant review before....but the extremely poor quality of the food combined with outrageous prices...leave me wanting to warn innocent people. I was really looking for soup...and sandwich for myself. They were out of French onion and the mushroom/blue cheese option - wasn’t appealing. I settled for chicken fingers and fries ....what came was 3 frozen chicken fingers and double fried fries. For $15. Practically inedible... My daughters Yorkshire stuffed prime rib? Looked like a pile shaved rubber. So fatty. Tasteless and also inedible....$18. The garlic bread with cheese? Was $9! Each of the six pieces? Was the size of a quarter...a slice of a baguette....cut in half. So a full order was 3 tiny slices of a baguette cut in half. The serving plates were gigantic and unnecessary that were brought to the table for the one bite garlic bread. Waitress confirmed that is the order...$9. For 6 bite sized pieces The other 3 orders were much the same. We went home hungry. Had to order pizza ...disappointed that an inedible lunch for 5 people was well over $100. The waitress did take the Yorkshire pudding off the bill. Please do not eat here. Food quality is horrendous and prices are outrageous.More

We had an amazing early Father's Day celebration at Davidson's on June 20th. Dan and his team never fail to make our dining experience feel like coming back home again. The service was amazing, both Sheila and Doreen went out of their way for not...just our table but those around us as well. The food was amazing! We ordered many appetizers (crab cakes, garlic shrimp, escargot) that were all to die for. The schnitzel was incredible. The food alone has brought us back time and time again but the people who bring the place to life is the main reason for our return. Growing up at the point, Dan and his whole team have been apart of my life for a long time. You will not find a team that is as kind, dedicated and perserving as the people at Davidson's. Even through a global pandemic, they are coming out strong!More

We went for Valentines day dinner. we had the striploin from the Valentines Day menu. It was excellent, as was the service and the quaint country atmosphere. i was especially happy when my wife said it was way better than the local popular steakhouse franchise....very nice, relaxed atmosphere and great service. We have wanted to go for a long time and we will definitely return soon. Call ahead for special meal requirements.More

Went for an early dinner, (so we were using lunch menu) I had the meatloaf w/fries & gravy (gravy was great!) and hubby had the piled high smoked meat on rye with fries & gravy. Both were very good, taste of home came through. Very...enjoyable, finished off with a slice of their home made Pecan Pie...wow! My only comment is that the meal and coffee were not served hot and when I mentioned that to the server she bent over backwards to correct that. We want to return again in the warmer weather and their full dinner menu...recommend a reservation at that time.More

Everything was excellent! My 92 year old mother wanted to treat our small family to bruch between Christmas and New Year's. She chose Davidson's because of the quaint atmosphere and the lovely staff. We were not disappointed. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, the food was...delicious and the service was outstanding! Thank you, Davidson's!!!More

It’s not often you find a restaurant that hasn’t been touch with today’s minimalism interior design and nouveau cuisine. Davidson’s restaurant is sure to please anyone who appreciates a owner operate restaurant, the atmosphere is authentically cozy and the food is absolute delicious.

This was my third time dining here, love the atmosphere, the restaurant is so eclectic. Food is very good, servers are friendly and accommodating and I would highly recommend it... especially when Tom Kovacs is entertaining!

Made reservations and arrived on time restaurant was at best half full one old waitress on staff who could not handle th couple of tables she had it took 2o minutes before she even came over to us (this should have been a sign to...leave) Was very abrupt and rude, took our drink order but was more concerned if it was one bill "or what" ordered dinner easy enough as we had the same, 4 orders came out all different, no such thing as medium rare all were beyond well done roast beef, potatoes were wrong, forgot yorkshire pudding and all of the food was smothered in this dark almost black sludge, she called it gravey. one order was to have no graveysludge. our wine came half way through our meal She made no offer to exchange the over cooked roast for medium rare as was ordered but explained "if you want medium rare you should have come earlier" WHAT!!!! maybe when we ordered she should have told us then there was only over cooked left and we would have ordered something else. She sent the "chef" over to us wow, hea was going to make us a special desert to make up for it.....sorry didn't not want desert we wanted the meal cooked the way we wanted it. he then started to clear our table and told us to get out calling us names!! He did no even want to hear my wife tell him she almost choked on a blue elastic that was wrapped around a carrot she ate....couldn't see it fr the graveysludge. Needless to say we all left after paying for the wine we got to drink half of. This is the worst restaurant i have ever been to we are 50 to 65 years of age. The owner should hire a cook, more experienced and polite waitresses or close. However i feel once the health department show up as per my request he may be closed down sooner. DONT GO HEREMore

Stopped by for lunch Clubhouse had pulled roasted chicken very tasty. Smoked meat sandwich was very tasty but I'm used to deli sandwiches where the meat is stacked high, so meat content in their sandwich was a little weak. Hand cut fries and gravy was...amazing. Definitely going back to try the dinner menu.More

Unfortunately, I have to select 1 star, whereas in reality it should have been - 5 stars!!!!! I have never experienced behavior like this before, it was shocking and totally uncalled for. It was a shame as my cousins had been here before for drinks...numerous times before and had said what a cute place this was. As we drove up, the car park was empty (this should have been a sign) and we were the only ones in there. The woman seating us was lovely and we had a bit of banter with her and she was very accommodating. When the food arrived, everyone that had chips (8 people had cold chips - there were only 9 of us in the group) and then 5 peoples main meal was also cold. We mentioned this to the waitress and she went in the kitchen and brought out some more chips, she didn't know what to do about our meal meals. Next minute the owner comes out and his behavior was appalling. He basically shouted at us and swore at us(this was his opening line - very professional ) he then went on to say he doesn't know how it would be cold, it must be the air con, then he said it wasn't cold, we asked how he would know this, as he hadn't tried it, so we asked him to try it and he refused. When I was trying to make my point, he was just shouting over me and being so rude. He then said to the waitress to get ready to call the police, all of this, just because we said our mains are cold. We weren't making a fuss, just wanted our meals to be at a decent temperature. Out of 9 of us, there was only person that was able to finish their meal. The man then brought his chief out and told us, her job was on the line and he was going to sack her,we said that was his decision, nothing to do with us and there is such a thing as employment law. He then walked off and shouted at us to go back home (even though 5 of the group are candanian). His whole behavior was embarrassing and unnecessary. We spoke to the waitress on our way out and said we had no issue with her and she was very friendly to us, she told us not to worry about him. I would avoid this place at all cost. 4 of us have been in Canada for 3 weeks and we always rave about the friendly, polite customer service but this is the exception. Avoid, avoid, avoid.More

We came here for a family meal and what can I say about this place.... DONT BOTHER!! The waitress was lovely provided great service the owner what can I say a hot headed racist!!! We had the stuffed Yorkshire sandwich and gourmet fries and a...veal sandwich and eggs Benedict. The food came out and the only thing that was hot was the managers head. The fries were room temperature and the food was cold we told the waitress she said she wasn’t sure what to do so she would get the manager. He turned up and wow what can I say he could use a lesson in customer service!!! The first thing he said to us was I call bullsh*t!! He was aggressive and downright rude. We tried to tell him the food was cold and he basically told us we didn’t know what we were talking about. We never ever mentioned about the food being microwaved and he told us that the food wasn’t nuked. He offered us 50% off the bill, we told him that wasn’t acceptable as more than half the meals were terrible. He then turned round and shouted to the waitress to call the cops if we didn’t pay. The manager/owner was extremely aggressive at this point threatening to fire his staff..... basically trying to guilt us in to paying the bill. We refused his offer and told we would pay for the decent meals but not the cold ones he then once again threatened to call the cops. He blamed the cold food on the air conditioning... not being funny we were eating in a room not the Antarctic. He was standing in an aggressive manner swearing at us. When we reiterated that we would only pay for the decent meals he then walked off and shouted “GO BACK HOME” not being funny But half our group is Canadian and the rest made up of visitors from England. DON’T VISIT HERE THE OWNER IS A RACIST AND HAS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS OF AN UNTRAINED APE.More
