During these 10 years, we went there 4-5 times a year…
that’s how well we know the place.
For various reasons, we are leaving our vacation spot and we will therefore no longer be able to go to “Nulle Part Ailleurs”.
We had some fantastic gastronomic moments there; sometimes there were 2 tables taken, sometimes the room was full but each time professionalism was at work.
From the appetizers, to the starter, to the main course and to the dessert, everything is tasty, well thought out, tasty.

We specifically sought out this place and made it our luncheon destination. Why, well having a recommendation by Michelin helps and the Menu du Marche sounded attractive. We were not disappointed. We were cordially welcomed in l”Absinthe and were offered. The amuse was compote of herring, followed by gravid lax with beet jelly, apple and anise ice cream (very well done), and as mains pasta with beans and what they call it a “Tex Mex” sauce. The bistro itself is a juggernaut of styles, let me phrase it this way I admire the original tiled floor, but would have picked a different ceiling.

Couvin is not really a village you would target for a stop through the region. One would even wonder why it is there in the first place. Well, thanks to reviews on tripadvisor, en route from a more known place like Chimay, we had the pleasure to book lunch at Nulle Part Ailleurs. Small place, two brothers in charge, next to a wine shop. Limited offer of dishes, limited seats available but.................delight from beginning to the end. This cook does wonders, simple food, quality ingredients, tasted the best cassoulet ever, the eel in escabeche cooked to perfection, the terrine a masterpiece and the housewine..........mindblowing.........so we ate, had a coffee and mastersweets afterwards and bought two bottles of the housewine from the shop..........I know where Couvin is and guess what, I will return, just for the pleasure of having lunch again.

This place is a well kept secret. It is situated in Couvin and has a B&B as well as a bistrot and a restaurant (Absinthe) and in addition there is a wine shop with fabulous wines. The food is super, with respect for high quality ingredients, the cooking is inventive without being overly complex. The ownder is very knowledgeable about wines and is absolutely charming.
