We arrived late and hungry. The place is magnificent and the menu has a great selection of dishes. We had seafood, which was very tasty and well presented, and the service was very attentive. Prices are quite reasonable. We left happy and will visit this restaurant again.

The Meson has been uniformly excellent for at least 17 years, and is truly the class of El Fuerte. Service is always great, the Sopa Azteca may be the best in the universe, and we always leave happy.

We have lived in El Fuerte for 17 years, and the Meson has been the restaurant in town for as long as we have been here. While new restaurants spring up, for example the Orrantia, the Meson still has the best food, best value and best service. Our favorite dishes are the Enchiladas Suizas, the Sopa Azteca (best anywhere!) and... More

Best onion soup I've ever had. We enjoyed our day in El Fuerte, although it was extremely hot. We had lunch and enjoyed the fish and limonada so much that we went back for dinner and had the amazing onion soup. We tried other onion soups while in Mexico for 2 weeks and none compared.

We had a wonderful dinner in a nice setting. The staff was helpful and the food great. When we will return to El Fuerte we will have dinner here again.

The service was more than good, the food as well. We focused on the local dishes (2 tiles of fish), I would definitely recommend this not only because they'll be fresher, or because they know how to prepare them well, but also because you'll pretty much only fine then there at least the "Lobina"! Have fun!

Just a walkin. The service was excellent. I had local black bass fillet from one of the local lakes. It was excellent. When they say smothered in ajo they mean it.

We were in El Fuerte, Sinaloa, staying at the Posada del Hidalgo en route to las barrancas del cobre and had lunch at El Meson del General (top rated restaurant in El Fuerte). The menu offered a large variety of Mexican specialties, plus some local dishes such as black river bass and craw fish (langostinas), except they didn't have the... More

We were a group of seven, three of us ordered the whole fish but only two were served. The third one came after everyone was finished but ended up being raw. When we showed them the waiter said he would take it off the bill. Then he made a point of telling us three times that he had to personally... More
