The owner talks so disrespectful to her staff. The quality of the food was bad with a long wait time even though it wasnt busy. Ordered vegetarian but tasted like meat so they didnt bother to wash stuff or cared for my dietary requirements. All together a horrible experience. First timer and will never be back

After a couple of hours spent exploring the gaol, we decided we needed refreshments, so wandered into the Blackbird Bakery, which is actually housed in the former prison officers' dining area, outside the gaol walls. I do hope this place can make a success of the venture here - it's not all that well sign-posted and I believe they have... More

My neighbour and I went out for morning tea and had the toasted banana bread and a fantastic cup of coffee. It was so fresh, and HUGE! Accompanying it were fresh blueberries, lemon curd and butter. Value for money it was a great deal at only $6. Loved every mouthful.

Having visited to buy sourdough bread previously, we decided to return, both for breakfast and more sourdough. We both had the same, bacon, eggs, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, champignons, chorizo, baby spinach all served with sourdough lightly toasted. The food is cooked fresh with each order, the papers are there for you to read whilst waiting, be prepared to wait... More

Lucked out finding this place next door to the Gaol where we'd just done a tour. The Chef couldn't have been more helpful and suggested it was no problem doing a Ploughman's for my son who had a hankering. To top it off she handed us two Belgium Sour Dough rolls to take home as she had them left over... More

Our last visit was four years ago when we were less than impressed with the service. Seeing some good recent reviews we decided to give it another go - but I doubt we will be bothered going back again there are many better organised places around :-( We arrived at 1230 for lunch - there were two other diners who... Often head here for break but the absolute clincher came when I went there for bread one Sunday morning thinking I was actually too tired to make breaks when I got home. The chef whipped us up a full breakfast for three to take away. So, so, so good.

We went there for brunch the food was delicious and the service good, but the atmosphere of the room was amazinging, it was raining at the time and the water gently running down the glass ceiling was so pretty. We liked the venue so much that my daughter is booking it for her wedding
