The steak was amazing, the venue historical and beautiful, service was off so didn't pay the service charge. Oh but did I say the steak was amazing?

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children dining in the Grill Room, the setup and organisation in this space is wonderful. Simple menu could be deceptive to some, but meant meant they concentrated on doing a few things very well. The setting was cosy & grand with relaxed but highly efficient & welcoming staff. Quality and presentation... More

My sister and I had dinner here recently and I have to say that it was brilliant. Her steak was perfectly cooked and my fish was perfect. Fab puds followed. The restaurant area was lovely and we were looked after very well. I will be returning again in a couple of weeks and am looking forward to it already!

Ate in a tiny room with 3 tables, more of a corridor. Staff kept coming to see if we were ready to order every couple of minutes when we were obviously still looking. Swapped a chair with an empty table as the base was obviously broken. The next people to arrive did the same I didn't fancy any starter which... More

The pub is a real gem, with great staff, especially Matt Greenlees who's the manager, and formerly The Manager at Babington House. Just a lovely pub, with a lovely feel.

After a very pleasant walk round Mells we popped into the Talbot for a drink. Although they did not have mulled wine requested by my wife. They were friendly and quick with coffee and beers. They pub was very full.

On a drizzly day we were in need of warmth for 2 persons and one doglet. We were treated with great courtesy and shown a table in a middle room where we could be undisturbed. Good coffee, fresh gnocchi and fantastic ham consomme.

The food here maintains a very high standard of food taste and presentation, and the atmosphere is lovely--beautiful old building. Our favourite place to eat in the area.

Ate here on 31/12 with family. Lovely building, very homely inside, service was excellent, due to a child being celiac, many questions were asked and our server was more than attentive. Food was beautiful and well presented, although a couple of the mains were slightly on the small portion and along with quite a long wait for the food. We... More
