My recent visit to Bardons for dinner was an utter disaster. It was a busy Saturday night before Xmas when i took a friend out for a nice dinner in what used be my favourite place to eat in Kildare, Bardons. We were waiting one hour and half for a table and we noted locals getting tables before us. The... More

We were passing by Killcullen today and stopped by chance mid-afternoon. The place was busy and we were told it would take approx 25 minutes for a table, but it looked lovely and we decided to wait. It was the right thing to do: the staff was helpful and made sound recommendations - we chose the scampi and the chowder... More

When walking into Bardon's you are getting the experience of an old style country pub. The burgundy walls, classic brass hangings, antique pictures and creaky original flooring gives the authentic Irish feel and setting. To add they even display pictures of the pub back in its hay day. Nicely done!! I have never seen Bardon's empty on any given evening.... More

Sunday Lunch was a disappointment unfortunately..... The starter was goats cheese with beetroot and was quite tasty but the burger was a whole different level of disappointment. It was cooked "alright" but the presentation was more than awful. The bun looked like it had been sat on in the kitchen before being brought to the table and the chips were... More

Great food friendly staff highly recommend this affordable high quality pub/restaurant. We arrived quite early on Monday night and it was quiet, we were later on Wednesday and they were full but we had a drink at the bar and a table was found for us .

Arrived at eight o'clock and was told there would be a bit of a wait and if we would like to give our name and take a seat in the bar they would call us when a table was ready. An hour later no call and the food area was nearly empty. Had to leave as we still had quite... More

We called into the Bardon for lunch on our drive through the town. At first glance it looked like an old man's boozer, but we saw a mix of clientelle, mostly eating. There were 3 or 4 areas with tables, and every seat had a view of a TV showing sport. The furniture supported the boozer impression, but the staff... More

Such an enjoyable experience and friendly service, I was here for my birthday with friends and not only was the food divine. There was 4 of us and there was a variety of meals. Every course was perfection and served in a timely fashion between courses. But what made this visit so enjoyable was the friendly staff And the extra... More
