This is the best pub in the galaxy as far as I'm concerned. I've been a good few times and it's always brilliant. An amazing ancient inn with atmospheric beamed rooms with stone floors and farmhouse tables. Great ales, and the food is stunning. This time I started with the pigeon with black pudding, followed by the chargrilled guineafowl, then... More

We were recommended this pub via our hosts from Bigert Mire, the walk itself left much to be desired because the weather had turned on us 30 minutes in, however we constantly looked forward to the welcoming sign of the Blacksmiths Arms, after 2.5 hours of walking in the rain I don't think I have seen anything more beautiful than... Its really old and I liked it a whole bunch. My wife is pregnant and she had the duck with orange sauce which is off the chain. My rack of lamb was great. So good! The place was very smokey, really smokey. Loved that though, we smell like a bonfire. Rosie says i sound insincere but I'm being honest, it... More

I came here tonight with my 10 year old daughter and her friend and our dog. I phoned to book in advance as I'd seen that they get busy. We arrived to a pub full of blazing fires in each room, friendly locals and visitors. I had the tack of lamb, my daughter had the rib eye steak and her... More

We were a party of 11 for a birthday celebration. We left it rather late booking a table but they said they could accommodate us, and as usual we were not disappointed with this lovely little pub. There are always a couple of real ales on offer in the small bar, and the menu offers substantial portions of very tasty... More

A lunch time birthday party and we all enjoyed our meals. Tried Lamb Henry, Gammon, Chicken, Belly pork, Salmon and a vegetarian pea risotto, so as you can see a wide choice and we all thought it very good. The tomato and garlic soup was complimented but the Tempura prawns were the highlight for me! Sticky toffee pudding and the... More

Arrived early and staff squeezed us in. It sounded like it was busy and people were being turned away, booking recommended. Food was delicious, something a little different. Would definitely visit again
