The dinner here was a wonderful experience. Its a multiple course meal in a cafeteria type setting. Our server lacey was very friendly and helpful especially knowing that i was a vegetarian. Lobster and seafood meals are their main attraction, but they do maintain alternate...options for vegetarians. The meals started w/ soup and bread (seafood chowder and oysters for non-veg), followed by main (lobster or pesto pasta) and ended w/ varying options for pies (tried 2 and both were very good). If you do visit, I would recommend leaving space for dessert. Food overall was good, service was fantastic which made for a great experience. Would recommend for lobster lovers and I am happy i got to try the restaurant.More

This is an absolute must when visiting this area. Reservations can only be made for groups of 10 or more. We stood in line for 30 minutes but it was well worth the wait. The food and service were exceptional.

This dining experience is truely a local institution and well worth a visit. We managed to get a table with views out to the rear overlooking the river. After devouring a huge pot of fresh mussels, the chowder and delicious salad we are glad that...we went for the smaller portion of lobster which was still plentiful. Everything was absolutely delightful. The service was folksy, friendly and really efficient. We strongly recommend this excellent restaurant.More

From the line up to get in, I was expecting big things. I did not receive big things. The rolls to start with were lovely. warm and fresh. Next came the muscles. I didn't partake as I have an allergy to all shellfish. ( I...do realize the irony of going to a lobster place when I can't eat it, but I wasn't the only diner) My group said they were good, but there was lots of empty shells in their bucket. Next came the soup. I had tomato basil and the rest ordered the seafood chowder. Good, but forgettable on all accounts. Next came the salad plates. Really enjoyed the potato salad, the garden salad was alright, but a little over dressed (had a puddle on my plate under the salad) and Cole slaw is Cole slaw. I wasn't expecting much from my entree. I ordered the steak. The steak was tender, well cooked, but no flavour. It wasn't even seasoned. 3 of the 5 lobsters that were ordered had no flavour, 1 was alright and. the other was good. Dessert was good. Lemon meringue pie, coconut cream pie were our selections. It was nice that ordering more of anything other than entrees was available, but we didn't partake of that. Service was fine, didn't see a lot of our server, but she was lovely when we did see her.More

Skip all the fancy shmancy seafood restaurants and eat here. All you can eat chowder, salad, bread, mussels, and a nice size lobster for around 40 bucks a person. Also, all the dessert you can eat! Crazy good food, nothing fancy but very good and...satisfying. They have been feeding people this way for almost 60 years! Great experience!!!! Go early, 4 to 5 p.m. to avoid line up.More

We were looking forward to this meal our entire trip and everyone really enjoyed it. From the outside it leaves much to be desired, but the inside was nicer than I expected. You can only make reservations if you have a party of 7+. When...we arrived there was a long line up and the parking lot was full, but we got in and were seated with in 15 min. When you enter you order and they give you tickets that you give to your server. Tip is not included in the price. Everyone needs to order something, like an all you can eat buffet. The adults got a 1lb lobster and we were concerned that it was going to be too much food with the seafood chowder, muscles, salad, and dessert, but it was just right. We didn't get seconds on the seafood chowder, muscles, and salad. The kids even enjoyed their 1/2 lb lobster, surprised that it was not seasoned in any way. I didn't like the potato salad or the balsamic dressing on the garden salad, but the coleslaw was good. The lemon meringue pie and coconut cream pie were good. We didn't like the strawberry shortcake. We found that the cake part was a little dry and heavy. The server was great and very attentive. I would highly recommend stopping here. It was a little pricing, but so worth it.More

Be prepared for a large meal. At the door you order and pay for your meal. After payment, you are seated and the feast begins. keep in mind, the food is great and you can get seconds if you want. The warm buns, soup, and...salads were a great start but nothing beats a bucket of PEI mussels. This all is the primer before receiving the main reason you come to this place. Eating a lobster is a messy experience but well worth the fight. After lobester, you will have dessert and i would recommend the lemon meringue.More

This place makes you feel like a local. I will say that original reason for its existence has long passed. The prices are on the higher end for the entrees, yet the public loves this place.Where locals mingle with visitors. Disappointed in the desserts ,the strawberry...shortcake isn't what I have had.Theirs is neither with shortbread,or sponge cake,it's this odd pie crust styled "cake." The cherry pie seemed like it was canned. After the fact,I learned the lemon meringue is the way to go.It does look amazing if you watch the servers bring slices out into the dining room. We paid for the experience, but will be on the hunt for a different supper club when we visit the island again. The lobster wasn't over cooked, but we made better ones at a cottage we rented earlier during our martimes visit. One of our lobsters was missing the tomalley which was disappointing. Oddly, our server wanted to remove our plates before we were done. Tip, get here as early as you can to their doors opening.Or make a reservation to avoid the lines.More

A very fun dinner; what an experience! Came with friends and family - was teased mercilessly for ordering the scallops (delicious!), and everyone else enjoyed the lobster. The endless supply of delicious chowder and mussels before our main were incredible. And I was too stuffed...for dessert, but my dining companions enjoyed the lemon meringue pie. (Tip: of you are one of the last settings, and have your heart set on a particular dessert, request to have it put aside when you first sit down.)More

We got there about 355. Already a long line up. Didn’t take too long to get seated maybe 35 min. We got a window seat which was nice. The downstairs is a good sized hall. Pretty simple decor. Food was pretty good. Our table had...a variety of food. No lobster but the haddock, salmon and scallops. Salads were good too. Main course was good. Pie for dessert. Pies were ok. By that time I was stuffed. Basically didn’t eat anything the next day. Would return. It’s an experience. Meal was a bit long for the kids (2 & 4).More

We waited 2 hours to finally be seated, on a Wednesday evening. Got there at 4:30, seated at 6:30. The staff were excellent and the food was absolutely amazing. Everything was delicious. The 4/5 rating is low only because of the wait and the washrooms...were dirty and smelly (probably due to large numbers of customers that night).More

This was more than a meal … it was an experience! The line was long at 4pm when they opened, so we weren’t sure we should stay (back home lines that long signal a 2-3 hour wait), but we dutifully got in line and we’re...assured by some locals that it was indeed worth the wait. We were inside and seated within 20 minutes. This place is huge and they have a large number of (amazing and friendly) staff. In fact, a big tour bus arrived while we were waiting in line and by the time we got inside, we barely noticed. If you are going here for anything but the lobster, you may be disappointed with the lack of flavour in the food, but you definitely have to try this at least once in your lifetime. First, you pay for your entree before you are seated (one of us had lobster and one of us had steak). Then you are treated to a multi-course experience starting with seafood chowder, warm rolls, a huge bucket of mussels, and an assortment of salads (potato, coleslaw, green), followed by dessert. You can have seconds of all those things. Non-alcoholic beverages are also included. The atmosphere is more like a casual wedding inside a hall if you are seated downstairs. The staff are so friendly and the whole meal (about two hours from start to finish) was such fun. The lobster was sweet and succulent, the rolls were warm and delicious, and everything else was just … ok. Bland but edible. All in all, it was a fun experience and I’m glad we did it.More

We usually visit the New Glasgow lobster supper every year and will be going a second time this year when a relative visits from Ontario because it is the BEST, unlimited fresh PEI mussels, excellent fresh lobster and unlimited salads and desserts, but you really...can’t eat extra because there is so much food. The rolls are soft, warm and delicious! The staff is friendly and efficient. This is a very popular spot so if you have to wait in line, don’t worry, it is so well worth it!More

In our 4-day stay in PEI, we literally had lobsters everyday - whether lunch or supper. They were the best we had! Loved the seafood chowder, mussels and, of course, the lobsters! These were the freshest among all the restaurants we tried. Our server, Avery,...was tops too - so friendly, attentive and helpful! Keep it up, Avery!More
