Haven't eaten here for a long time and all I wanted to say is that the food is still "top grub" and their Liver & Bacon is absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Another must try is the "eggy bread wrapped Goats cheese! What a brilliant and very tasty starter all at reasonable prices and served with a smile.

We were driving through Rutland for a weekend away and feeling hungry & thirsty we happened upon this gem. Having bought drinks we sat outside and decided we would like to eat there. We ordered 4 different selections, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, burger and pork stroganoff and they were all delicious. The young lady behind the bar... More

My wife and I attended a pre-Christmas dinner for a party of about 40. On arrival the welcome was warm and helpful, and the decor stylish and relaxing. All of our courses were served at the same time, which is unusual for this size of group. The food was presented beautifully, and delicious. The service was attentive and competent throughout.... This pub was recommended to us by a friend and we decided to book in for Sunday lunch. It s about a 45 mile round trip for us but what better way to spend a sunny Sunday. The village of Luffenham is very nice and the pub sits in its heart. It's very nicely appointed and tastefully decorated. Modern &... More

Stayed across the road in a lovely B&B and ate here both evenings. Food was so good we were already looking forward to the next evening's meal before we'd finished the one on the first night. Interesting menu and good value for top quality food. The chef here is a craftsman or woman!

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us! They fitted us in before a large party so we could eat quickly (we were three very tired BirdFair exhibitors!) on busy Friday and Saturday nights. Food was exceptional, and very well priced. Lovely decor and friendly atmosphere. We came here 3 nights in a row! Thank you to all the staff... More

At just two minutes walk from Hilberry bnb it was an ideal place to eat. The only downside was we were seated at a table in the front bar. The room does not have good acoustics and I found the volume of other conversations uncomfortably noisy. Next time we must try and get a table in the back. The toilets... More

We were on holiday in the area and came across this pub en route back to our holiday cottage. As we were all rather hungry having had a very light bite for lunch decided to stop and see what the place had to offer. Very friendly staff, not many people in bar area and restaurant seemed to be shut. However... More

Had waited a little while to try this very nice pub/restaurant for Sunday lunch. We booked on the Saturday and although the restaurant was fully booked they accommodated us in the bar. The venue is very nicely appointed and the staff very laid back. The food was generally good although for me personally the lamb was a little tasteless and... More

The menu is varied with a good choice of meals at very reasonable prices. The wine list is adequate and inexpensive. You need to book a table on a Saturday night as the dining area is rather small
