El Golfo appears to exist for it's fish restaurants along the edge of the sea. Food at all of them is fairly predictable, but at Bogavente you can dine on a lower level veranda and enjoy the crashing waves with your garlic prawns. Not expensive, and if you need it even cheaper there is a good value menu of the... More

My wife and I first visited this restaurant 28 years ago on our first holiday together. I suppose it says something that it is still thriving after all that time. We went for lunch. One of the most notable aspects of this place is its location right on the black sand beach. No piped music here just the sound of... More

Good service and well cooked fish. Choose the conditions right and you get a free sunset over the sea as the restaurant is right down on the shore. Don't forget to visit El Golfo while there.

If you want a lunch or evening meal right next to the sea then you won't go far wrong here. It's not five star dining but what you do get is good food and a great location. We had the fish stew and it was delicious. The place was buzzy and the staff were friendly if not always smiley (... More

We had the paella for two, beautifully cooked, great fresh fish, wonderful views and great white wine. Very chilled out place, I tend to disagree with some of the negative comments previous to ours, maybe the reviewers were having a bad day! Ignore them, go visit this very local and authentic restaurant. Enjoy the sea crashing against the rocks literally... More

What a place! Friendly, brilliant food, fresh fish, the most outstanding view where you are literally sat on the rocks with the sea at your feet. The waiters are super friendly, there are some lovely fat cats who are willing to help you eat the huge fish you get, cold beer in frosted glasses....just beautiful. If you want to get... More

Is a classic in the island. I visit this restaurant once a year since long time ago and never regreat. The quality is never deceiving and I would say that improve year by year. If you want to enjoy (probably) the best rice with lobster (arroz caldoso con bogavante) of the island in a natural spot in front of the... More

This meal cost nearly four times more than my last review in La Santa. The restaurant was far more presentable and the service was more western, eg. tablecloths, waiters spoke English. The food was fine, not exceptional, but my wife had fish of the day, which was very good and probably the best choice. I felt that it was pricey... More

The location is very nice, with a great seaview and staff is welcoming. It is a very touristy venue. The food was ok, but nothing to remember. My swordfish fillet was not the freshest I've ever had. We happened to land there due to being closing day (monday) of the Siroco, reportedly the best in El Golfo.

Thank you Bogavante for lunch. A reasonable affair with mediocre service. Nothing to write home about and not worthy of a “very good” hence 3 stars for “average”. I would however commend the restaurant for its location, right on the shore line.

Description
Rest Bogavante is located in a privileged area from which you can see magnificent sunsets surrounded by the sea breeze of the Atlantic, while tasting the typical cuisine of the island, among which is our wide range of seafood (viejas , gallos, meros, lapas, octopus, etc), along with our soupy rice with lobster or carabiner; also you can taste our scalding gofio.
