Wow, the food in this restaurant is sensational and using locally produced foods. The staff are attentive and friendly and the local residents who use the pub are friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

Had lunch at this very highly rated place. Although superficially a pub it is really a restaurant with a small bar and drinking area. It doesn't have a bar menu; at meal times its the full works so if you just want a snack go...More

We had a lovely lunch here on our way to Hay-on-Wye. It is in quite a remote location, but was already pretty busy despite it being an early lunch - an indication of it's popularity. The menu is quite limited, but I think this means...More

The food at the Felin Fach Griffin, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, is an absolute treat. A regularly changing and richly diverse menu provides a feast for the palate. Presentation and quality are sumptuous and the dining room is charming. Good wine too!

I was very impressed by the lunch menu at the Griffin. Each course was beautifully presented and tasted great. The service was excellent and couldn’t be faulted. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes on the menu.

I expected a lot from this place, but the service and the menu were average. I've no complaints, it just wasn't the experience I hoped it would be! If you're in Brecon then check it out- you won't be disappointed (unless, like me, you hoped...More

This place is up there with the best of pub restaurants for great food. It's not cheap but it is very reasonably priced. The set price menu offers a good selection of dishes. We dined as a family group of 6 and tasted a wide range...More

We had a superb lunch at the Griffin. The pub itself has a lot of character and the service is friendly and highly professional. We were impressed by both the wine list and the menu. Gnocchi was one of the best ones we have had...More

My husband and I came here for Easter Sunday lunch on a recommendation from a friend, and my husband insists it's the best roast he's ever had. The service and food were perfect - and we even got complimentary cauliflower cheese with our mains! I...More

Dear Ryan We don't impose any effective dress code on guests. Trousers probably best at this time of year, but no requirement for a coat or for a tie. We just hope you have a good supper with us. Please do call us if we... More

Description
The exterior of Brecon’s Felin Fach Griffin may be of ‘another country pub’ but step inside and it’s almost as if chintz and row upon row of horse brasses never happened. Boldly coloured walls and plush leather couches sit happily alongside scrubbed wooden tables and chairs and historic beams, but it’s the food that we’re here for…the very food that has critics raving and the awards piling up. Locally sourced ingredients, including a selection from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden, provide a centrepiece for glorious dishes full of imagination. Make the most of melt in the mouth mains and to die for desserts but remember to leave room for the spectacular selection of Welsh cheeses which really make the meal. The Felin Fach Griffin has won the Best Family Restaurant award for the United Kingdom in the 2008 Good Food Guide.
