This was a restaurant I would place in the second tier in Richmond, for your general dimsum array, and Cantonese dishes. I don't say don't go here, but there are other choices I would run to first. Ahead of it, and let me be very...specific, I would put establishments like Kirin (at Richmond Center), Empire Seafood (always a favorite of mine, on no. 3 Road), and Continental Seafood (on Canbie). In fairness, those three might be a bit more expensive too. I know my sister in-law was complaining that Dynasty and Kirin are too expensive. Just to go through a few selections we tried here: the pork minced meat over rice was quite good, as was the similar beef patty (both served in Long/bamboo steamers). The Feng Zhao (chicken feet), however, were a little gamey. I really liked the pork and cabbage pot-stickers. A vegetable plate, and the spring rolls, were merely "okay." I usually like fish, but the one dish my wife and her sister ordered here, left me indifferent. I will say one thing here, the service was very attentive, and thanks for that. I didn't see ha ago (shrimp dumplings) on the menu--did I miss that? The bill was $62 for three. This was just for a casual lunch, we didn't ask for any special dishes. Bon appetit!More

We had a nice meal here with friends. Good reliable food every time and very good service. Free covered or street parking is available. Many menu items worthy of trying. Great for larger parties.

I had a great time checking out Golden Paramount Seafood Restaurant for dim sum. The service was very fast and friendly and the food was great. The beef rice rolls was delicious and the congee was great. Definitely would recommend this spot for dim sum.

Always nice to gather with a group of friends over a nice meal. The service and food is very good. Parking is onsite but you have to loop a few levels unless you get there early.

Dim sum was very good. Tried our favorites: har gow (steamed shrimp dumplings), beef cheung fun (beef in rice rolls), shrimp cheung fun (shrimp in rice rolls), bean curd wrapped beef balls, etc. I requested a pan fried crispy noodle dish with beef brisket. They...made a delicious dish and added gai lan (Chinese broccoli) and mushrooms. My son loved it! Try the pan fried oysters with soya sauce! Yum! Prices are reasonable. Note: There is parking is on the second floor of the adjacent parkade. There is little signage to direct you to the restaurant. There is a doorway to the left of “G/F Restaurant” painted on the garage wall. Take the elevator to the ground floor to access the restaurant. Signage would definitely help as I had to direct an elderly couple to the restaurant.More

I was searching for the best lunch spots in Vancouver and this restaurant pulled up in an article of 38 best places for lunch. The dim sum here is so so!! I was terribly disappointed. There are so many dim sum places in Richmond to...go to, but this food here is not that good! This was my first time and last time!More

I have been here several times. Reliable food. For banquet style meals and ordered a la carte. Attended with a large party so we tried many very good items. There is limited free parking otherwise on a busy night you must find pay street parking...nearby which is max 2 hours so you might have to remind yourself to stop up parking.More

My wife and I needed a quick dim sum breakfast on the way out of Vancouver on a Friday morning. Found some positive reviews and had the GPS guide us to the nondescript location of Paramount Seafood. Ordered the special crab/pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, bbq...pork buns and fried sticky rice. Everything was superb, some of the best we have ever had (and that includes San Francisco, Hong Kong, and many other cities). The staff were friendly and efficient. The room is without interest, but who cares? I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!More

We were part of a private dinner party in one of the rooms. It was a feast of many courses. The food was fairly well done and good service considering many tables to be served basically at the same time.

We arrived for a a dim sum lunch on a Monday afternoon. You can park in the adjacent garage for free. We were offered a plate of 3 barbecued pork-filled bao as well as a plate of 4 egg tarts. Of course, we'd take them...to start things off as we studied the menu. The bao were the best we'd ever had anywhere. Unlike most bao, these were either not steamed at all or had been baked a bit after steaming. A small amount of sugar had been sprinkled on top. The result was a bao with a soft interior and an excellent BBQ pork filling and a slighly crisp and slighly sweet crust. Outstanding! The egg tarts were also excellent: the filling was a tad lighter than others we've had, but the crust was rich and crumbly. We also ordered steamed shrimp dumplings, shredded chicken, and pan-fried oysters. The steamed dumplings were really, really good with a think covering over impeccably fresh shrimp. The other two dishes were less successful in our mind. The shredded chicken was combined with shredded vegetables plus something that might have been jelly fish, we weren't sure. The oysters were quite firm, without being overcooked. Since we like ours almost raw, we would order something else the next time. We were almost to the US border when my husband realized he had left his camera at the restaurant. He called and was assured he could pick them up even though, by the time we'd get there, they would be closed. We were further delayed by awful traffic, so it took us nearly an hour to get there. The gentleman he's spoken with was still there, with his camera in hand. He refused the offer of a tip. So we were thrilled with about half of our lunch. We think it's because we simply ordered dishes that were not what we expected them to be. We look forward to returning and trying out more of the menu.More

Golden Paramount Seafood Restaurant (I know, the name sounds just like all of the other Chinese restaurants) recently moved from a small strip mall into a brick building next door. The layout and the building itself is a bit confusing as we had a bit...of trouble finding the place after parking in the attached parking structure. Things weren’t very busy when we visited on a Sunday morning in late October (but that suits us fine because we don’t like lineups… especially when we’re hangry). We stuck with a bunch of dim sum items that we almost always order… Steamed Bean Curd Rolls ($7) and Steamed Beef Tripe ($7). The Deep-Fried Chinese Doughnut Rice Roll ($7.50) was quite good here. In some places, the Chinese doughnut is too hard and in other places, it’s too soft. This one had the right amount of crispness without being too crunchy. Next up was the Siu Mai ($7) dumplings with a bouncy shrimp and pork filling and topped with fish roe. And last off was the Pork Spareribs in Garlic Sauce ($7). Most items were fairly standard in terms of dim sum fare but prices seemed a bit high. That being said, they did offer 10% discount (early bird?) but it’s cash only so make sure you bring some greenbacks.More

Richmond was a good 25mins by SkyTrain from downtown Vancouver and lucky for us, the restaurant was worth the trip. It is interesting to note that once we strike up a conversation with the manager, he was quite forthcoming to tell us that they are...one of the few Hong Kong style restaurants left in the areas. Apparently, most have been changed to suit the tastes of more recent migrants. It is certainly true that the cooking style of this eatery is firmly rooted in the Cantonese genre and they do a good job of marrying local produce with just a hint of fusion. The layout of the restaurant is a little odd. I guess that it might have been two shops knocked through at some stage to expand the seating capacity but that's just a guess. There are quite a few large tables but it is not overcrowded. Food on the whole is top notch. Almost everything we tried was delicious. Even the humble sweet and sour pork was voted one of the best many around the table have eaten for a long time. The staff are friendly and super attentive. The only minor negative was the initial eagerness to up sell their expensive live seafood. Once we made it clear what we don't want to order, things settled down and the server was most helpful with our order.More

Best dimsum in North America. Featured in new York times article. Order the house special dumpling. Tea is mild. Very clean and nice decor at this location. Takes debit and credit. Ironically they won an award for best sweet and sour pork. Enjoy.
