Looking for some new places to try, good choice for sure! Saturday evening, very popular, good vibe, can be a tad loud with serveral big screens and music as well. Order and pay at the til routine. Decent selection on the menu with generous portions Great craft selections for a taster flight, wine flight available as well. We selected the Brussel sprouts spoke, very nice! The timber burger and the pesto quesadilla. All very nice, tasty and generous! Worth a visit!!

Good food, nice place, and some interesting beers. I particularly liked the graham cracker ale. I had the maple bourbon burger, which was very good, with great french fries. My wife had a citrus arugula salad, and a side of hummas and pita. Service was good and everything seemed reasonably priced. Also had off street parking, which seems like a big plus. Good stop for lunch.

This is a very nice gastropub with plenty of seating choices in their woody, attractive interior. Some outdoor seating is also available, weather permitting. The location is on a main thoroughfare and near public transport (bus stop). The kitchen includes a large, wood-fired oven that generates rather exotic pizzas that are not cheap but that are generously topped. During my visit in June 2019 there were 4 standard beers on tap plus 8 "Rotating" taps; altogether this provided a wide range of beer styles to choose from including IPA, sour, milk stout, Berliner Weisse, rice lager, ESB, APA and DIPA. All 7 beers I have had here were good and a couple were excellent.

This used to be a great place to go for a burger or pizza & beer and the service was great. My issue is not with the food as it is still very good. My issue is with the service. The owner(s) have changed the format and now it is basically a self-serve restaurant. The customer is expected to go to the bar and order their drinks & food. The problem with this is that we stood in line for 10 minutes to order a couple of beers. When we were ready to order food, we then stood in line an another 10-15 minutes to order the food. There were people in the line in front of us ordering or paying. Again when it was time to pay, there was a wait. The whole process is extremely inefficient. The restaurant/pub was empty (on a Saturday evening!) and the patio was almost but not quite full. We will not be back. It would not surprise me to see this place close down.

Hi Dreamer, We're reaching out today to let you know that new ownership (Otter Co-op) took over as of September 1, 2020. We have a new manager who has changed the service back to table service and we've expanded our beer tap list. We would love to have you join us one day and give us another try.

Rustic decor when you enter ypu need to order drinks and food at the bar. At the heart of the restaurant is our double forno oven so you gotta try the pizza! We had the deep fried pickles and the truffle fries both were good but we regret not trying the pizza. I had the Rizzla Rice Lager was okay but would try the pilsner next time.

Margherita pizza was extremely tasty made in the wood burning oven and just as good cold for a snack. Watershed burger was also very good and cooked too perfection. Great job guys with all fresh ingredients.

Really liked this place when they opened. Food was great especially the pizzas. They have a pretty good beer selection and their servers were always friendly. They’ve now changed to an order at the bar style establishment and the service has suffered. I’ll no longer go here. We used to bring visitors and clients from out of town who loved the ambience and the fireplace but we’ll now go elsewhere which is too bad because this place was really good.

Good local pub with excellent beer on tap (their cucumber sour is fantastic if you like a good sour), and good wood fire pizza. Burgers less impressive.

Tried hearthstone again tonight. Previously they had a great menu, table service, and decent servers. This has all changed but the prices don’t reflect this. If I am getting my own beer and ordering my own food 18 bucks for a burger and 6.50 for a 16oz beer seems pretty steep. Stick with cactus club and Earls they have a great happy hour menu, competitive prices and they serve you. I hope hearthstone will figure out its service model as it feels like it’s on deaths door. Its Friday night and the place is pretty empty of both staff and patrons. I want this place to succeed but drastic changes are needed.

went in to this place to try Friday night very quiet seated at table was told to order drinks from the bar? quite different so i got up from table and walked over to the bar. I mentioned to the bartender that it was odd to have to get up from your table and order drinks... which he promptly said " have you ever been to a brewpub before?" I said yes and that all of them provide service at your table at which point he said " dont be such a ****". I asked for the manager and he said he was.. we finished our drinks waitress was very nice but we will spreading the word NOT to go here to get verbally abused

It was a first time visit tonight and I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. It was totally burnt. I was shocked that they would even bother to serve it that burnt. The friends I was with could smell the burnt smell from it as it was served. I immediately sent it back and the server warned me that this is how they usually make it so it could still be somewhat burnt when they redo it though they will tell the cook to do it less burnt for me. I did get a less burnt version served later (after the others I was with had all eaten). Most restaurants with any sort of class would not charge for a bad meal even when replaced. However, this place charged me full price. There is no discount for serving burnt Chicken Quesadilla or waiting a long time to recook.

I enjoyed our lunch at the Hearthstone. The spring board burger looked awesome so had to have one. It was a delicious flavor combination of meats. Only complaint is the hamburger part of it was well done so a bit dry. The pizza’s were unique in description and flavor. I was working so couldn’t try the beer selection. I would go back again.

We have been several times as we can take the whole family for dinner, and fill our Growler for later. My only crtisim is the high stools as my wife hates them. The food is very good and the beer very good. Good place to pick up the Growler Book but dont expect all the listings to be as good as this.

Was in Vancouver and thought I would look for a brew pub for lunch. Can in and found the place almost empty, but it was only 11:30 in the morning. The staff were very friendly and explained the pizza and beer lunch special. Since I like pizza and beer, I thought why not. I have to say, I'm not used to odd pizza combinations, and this place has some odd ones. I ordered an IPA and a Spiced Honey Calibrese pizza. The beer was very good. No odd fruit combinations I don't like. When the pizza came, it was a thin crust baked in their stone pizza oven. It was pretty good, but the tomato sauce tasted a bit like ketchup or a jarred spaghetti sauce. Also, there was only meat in the middle of the pizza which left alot of space where toppings could have gone on the crust. The fresh jalapenos were a bit spicy. Overall, I would say the pizza was ok. I've had worse, but I've also had better. The staff are great. The beer was good. Probably would order a burger next time.
