Went there for dinner looking for a light meal. The service was good and the meals were also good, not fantastic or as some people have stated large. In general for the price was in the expensive range, cannot agree that the food was reasonably priced. I am attaching a pic of the menu, which shows all the food available.

Visit here based on good review. Ordered Pho, Vermicelli with grilled pork and spring roll, and Rice with grilled lemongrass chicken and spring rolls. All foods are delicious and service is great and quick. The building is old. Food is reasonably priced.

My son and I were in North Vancouver, and this restaurant was a stone's throw away from the venue. We had heard about this restaurant's great food from other families, and decided to take food away.
And man, that was such a good decision. We walked up to the building's entrance, and weren't sure about it - the exterior looks straight out of the seventies, and as if it hadn't seen any renovation work from that decade. Upon entering the restaurant, the decor also looked like it was from the seventies - wooden slatted walls, awful carpet, and an odd odor.
The hostess presented us with menus and we made our selections. It took 10-15 minutes to have our takeaway prepared. The food, as others had told us, was very good. We ordered the beef pho, a chicken and pork spring rolls on vermicelli, deep fried rolls, and a variety of salad rolls. Everything was well prepared and tasty.
Overall, we were very glad we got take out from this restaurant!

It must be a family run operation since the server was busy, the cook brought out my dinner. Friendly staff and reasonable prices.

Service sucked!
I went to the restaurant to pick up my food that I ordered on the phone. I asked the staff(a woman) about my pick up and the staff stared at each other lol
The man said "You may have phoned a different location", so I dialled the number I called AND THEIR PHONE RANG!
They looked at each other again. The man asked "Could you wait 5 minutes" and I told them I did a phone order because I was in a hurry!
Absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL. NO INTENTION TO COMPENSATE WHATSOEVER.
DO NOT GO!
Please don't waste your time! Spend your time and money somewhere else.

Thanks to Pho Japolo for fitting our family of 9. Tasty pho for all - also order shrimp and spring rolls for kids who snarfed it down like a treat. Adults enjoyed the broth on a wet day

We had lunch here on our way out of North Vancouver. We ordered the Shrimp Rolls, Spring Rolls, Grilled Pork & Shrimp Rice Plate, and Grilled Pork with Pork Rolls Rice Plate. The Shrimp Rolls were delicious, but the Spring Rolls were just okay. They were largely filled with rice noodles, Napa cabbage, and shrimp. We’re used to having Spring Rolls that have grilled pork, cilantro, and red leaf lettuce. I’d definitely recommend the Shrimp Rolls. The grilled pork slices were good, but the rice was a bit off. I don’t know if it was undercooked. Anyway, I am open to trying other items on the menu the next time we’re in town. The restaurant did fill up with people, so they must like the food.

First of all the building doesn’t typically reflect what an Asian restaurant looks or feels like and I found that very enjoyable
Two TV screens playing jeopardy was interesting as well and people watching it
Service was friendly and quick
I walked in on a cold snowy evening and was quickly served hot tea with a smile and greetings
The food came out fast and hot and fresh , not off the charts but good
Good value overall

The restaurant looks run down with a lot of maintenance issues, including broken men's washroom. I started camping here 18 years and it needed new carpet and renovations then and there hasn't been any renovations since. If you can look past that, the pho is flavorful and subs are delicious. It is over priced compared to other pho restaurants.

We walked 1.5K to Pho Japolo from our AirBnB. I'm glad we did. The ambiance had a 1970's old steak house feel to it when we walked in :) The food was fast, fresh and plentiful. I had the Pho with spicy broth and lean beef (a mix of 21 and 1) and my husband had # 74 Rice noodle bowl. We started with a pork salld roll each (order 1 roll for 2 people, they are enormous!). Both had good flavor. I would recommend this place.

As mentioned by many other reviewers this restaurant does not have an impressive facade. But the product - amazing Vietnamese food - sells itself.
The menu has plentiful choices, however I went for the classic Pho during both times I visited. Yes it’s worth a repeat visit!
The ingredients are fresh, healthy, and the meal quite filling. The dish is promptly delivered and there are numerous condiments on the table for the diner to use, such as sweet chilli, spicy chilli, fish sauce, salt, pepper and more. Therefore you can customise the flavours as you like it.
I’m so happy my AirBnb apartment is within a short walk to Pho Japolo!

Pho was ok but no wow factor. Service was descent and location great. Building is dated but whatever I eat the food not always the surroundings.

We were staying locally at the Best Western and were recommended Japolo and told about the discount we could get. We almost left as soon as we entered - the outside was bad but inside it was grim, dark, dingy and dirty windows with cobwebs, only 2 other diners, but we stayed. I still don't know why! Maybe the delicious aromas and friendly staff! The food was FABULOUS! So much vegetarian choice and just so so authentic and tasty! In our 4 night stay in the area we went 3 times! By the time we left that first night the place was buzzing with regulars and visitors with a great atmosphere, and a queue of people waiting to get in. It just shows, you can't judge a book by its cover, but this cover doesn't have long left! I would have given a 5 rating but the building is really poorly maintained.

If you are looking for good Pho , this is the place, if you are into fancy surroundings this is not. The structure itself is suspect but the food is better , faster and cheaper than most. If they were to renovate I would give this a 5 star other than prices would go up. Try it

Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
