Restaurant is right on the water and we got a table on the patio outside. Very cool setting with excellent views of Vancouver downtown.Great staff and all the standard covid precautions in place. However, the quality of the food and drinks was not up to the mark. Sangria was too sour, calamari was weird and bland, fish batter for the fish n chips was tasting stale and sour.We provided our honest feedback and they were good about it and didn't charge us for the drink and calamari and gave a $10 gift voucher for the next time. Will recommend it for the great views and hopefully the quality of the food we got was just a one off and not a standard!

The last time I reviewed this restaurant was pretty negative. Fish and chips with the skin on might be common in England or Australia, but it is gross in Vancouver. This time, however, was a lunch where they offer discounted items including fish and chips and they were excellent. There are a half dozen menu item discounted for lunch and they have $5 pale ale daily. Tuesday and Wednesday are half price wine days. The deck is 10 feet from the sea and the view of the city is unsurpassed. This is a place to take the Seabus to a leisurely and inexpensive lunch.

I gave Pier 7, back in 2013, an underwhelming review. Things change - time marches on - we are regulars now - and I realized that I should update my review. We are regulars because Pier 7 has a great happy hour menu and pricing from 3 to 6 pm. Some of the neighbouring restaurants (talking to you Tap & Barrel) have no happy hour on the weekends. So, out for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon stroll along the waterfront Spirt Trail , we often stop in. During the winter, happy hour coincides with sunset. We have seen numerous spectacular sunsets across the water from the patio (which is heated and comfortable year round). Best view in town! The happy hour menu items are quite good. The truffle fries and chicken wings are excellent. This is a great spot for casual drinks and snacks. I have not had the more expensive dinner items lately. The servers are always friendly and efficient.

We came here last week from out of town for my 40th birthday. They forgot our appetizer, we would sit with empty drinks and have to flag someone down. It wasn’t busy in there at all but the servers didn’t seem to care or want to do their job. On the plus side our meals were good and the view breathtaking. Because the service was horrendous I’ll be looking elsewhere to eat the next time we are visiting.

It was our first time to get together and dine out since Covid-19. Two friends, from a women's group we'd been in for 16 years, and I met at Pier 7 for lunch outside on glorious summer afternoon. The Salmon Salad Bowl and Grilled Salmon were beautifully presented and with many different flavours. The helpings were substantial. The staff accommodated one friend with a better seat and cleared the path for her to manoeuvre her scooter. Our hostess and server were friendly and helpful. We celebrated the day with a chocolate lava cake - rich chocolate melting out of round cake covered with summer berries and ice-cream. Yum! A great place to visit in Lower Lonsdale Shipyards, which is looking very smart, with new buildings and walkways. It was conveniently close to the seabus for the friend who travelled from Vancouver.

We celebrated our "35th" Wedding Anniversary at Pier 7 with friends and it was absolutely "Magical"! We had the best seat in the house, al fresco dining, looking at Vancouver and the sparkling water on a beautiful sunny day. Our Server, Raine, was exceptional, a true professional ! Jim the Manager treated us to the upper deck with even better views and a classy dessert platter ( macaroons/ chocolate/ cheese cake) !!! Jim is a very experienced Manager who ensures good service, great food/cocktails and that over and above special service for customers celebrating life's milestones. Pier 7 is the star of the the North Shore !!!

I can’t really identify exactly where the restaurant is struggling because the food is absolutely fantastic. But it seems there is a problem with staff in the sense that they are all over the place, they are inconsistent in their messaging. They’ll say to some people “no, you can’t have the patio , as we can’t reserve it” and then we witnessed other people say “yes we do” as far as Staff is concerned. The food was very late in arriving; the wait staff trying their best but it’s like they are miss managed somehow. So if you lower your expectations for hosting and hopes for seating, the food is fabulous and certainly enjoyable. I think it’s a top down problem because the staff is just all over the place. I would hate to see the staff blamed because when the wait staff was at our table they did their very best but you could see the confusion amongst the staff in hostessing and seating arrangements and communication issues. It was our anniversary and we were told three different things and we had booked our reservation a week in advance and even checked in the night before to make sure we still had our reservation and there was still so much confusion. Fabulous views if you get lucky enough to get a seat.

We've been to Pier 7 several times in the past, and the story has always been the same - fantastic location, average at best food. With a friend in town we decided to try it one more time thinking it might be better with all the competition that has moved in recently. We were not disappointed this time! The location right on the water with a view of the harbour and the Vancouver skyline is fantastic, especially on the deck. The service was excellent and knowledgeable, and the food, finally, has caught up with the view. We had tacos for an appy, and though the taco shells were a bit doughy (need to be quick fried), the contents and size were excellent. The salmon bowl and mushroom chicken were also excellent. One of the best chicken dishes I've had in a long time. Portions were generous. We've definitely put Pier 7 back on our list to take out-of-town guests.

We have eaten here prior to COVID and always found the food and service excellent. We chose to take out-of-town guests here for the view and the food. Today was the first post COVID gathering for our group and we were all very disappointed in the service in general and, in particular, one of our party's meals was missed and arrived late - nice not to have to pay but did not make up for the very disappointing meal. Although we live in the area we are not likely to return in the foreseeable future.

We enjoy eating out and have no trouble paying for excellent food and excellent service. Upon arriving it was super busy the lady at the front asked if we had a reservation we did not so we had no expectations to get seated right away she led us to a table inside the room was so hot it was u comfortable even the waitresses were sweating, We were great somewhat quickly by a waitress took our order the very talented bartender brought our drinks over he was smoking busy.: A little while later the owner/manger took our order, the food came fast and was very good the beer was cold, our waitress/waiter were pleasant enough but there was something definitely off with the serving staff and the owner/manager not one person looked happy or pleased to be working there . It was uncomfortably hot but smiles were not on the menu…. Except for the bartender he was pretty cool. Lots of places to eat on van, I’d say go somewhere else first,:: and the upstairs patio wasn’t open I’m guessing cuz of staffing issues.

Had a reservation booked. We arrived a few minutes early. The hostess rudely informed me that she would "seat us as close to our time as possible" Huh? Isn't that why you make a reservation? Sat out on the patio where there is little shade. It's way Too hot to be comfortable. Nothing was available inside, but their air conditioning was barely noticeable. Their happy hour prices are good, but beer menu is lacking. Sangria was excellent though. Everything was a wait....15-20 mins for drinks, 30 mins after that for food items. Glad I wasn't in a rush. The food was tasty though and enjoyable. I will definitely think twice about going back.

What a missed opportunity… The Shipyards in North Vancouver is ready and open for business. New residents are moving into their luxury apartments and businesses have nabbed up all the prime locations by the water. PIER 7 has the best spot by the water with a panoramic view of Vancouver. Although the view will bring people through the doors, the restaurant itself falls short. The upstairs is closed except for special events, meanwhile the only washrooms are all the way up there. The downstairs wasn’t very busy, even with such an amazing view and a decent happy hour menu. The place comes off as a Cactus/Milestones wannabe and it isn’t even as good (mind you, I do despise those casual dining chain restaurants as well). The servers don’t have the same energy of the chains and they haven’t been able to capture the general vibe. Maybe they haven’t gotten into the full flow of things, maybe they count more on booking out their place for events, maybe they are just in over their heads… maybe it's maybelline… (shrug)

In One word. Amazing. Visited during the dine out 2021 and it was one of the best value for money dine outs this season. The views of the harbor and food - Mind blowing. The Mussels, Seared Sablefish, Steak one better than the other. The dessert could have been a better choice but really after the scrumptious dinner Dessert really did not matter. Over very happy

Went out with family for the 1st time to this restaurant. The only time we saw our waitress was when ordering and we had to wait almost 15 minutes to do that. The food was served by the manager and some other staff member. They did not even confirm if these were our orders, they were thrown down in front of us and walked away. NO refills for drinks, great view, and why did we pay outrageous prices for so little food. We actually went to McDonald’s after this meal. The server was rude, and nonexistent. Do yourself a favour and buy a coffee and sandwich then sit on the boardwalk. I could not recommend this place to anyone.

We had a great evening celebrating our twins 6th birthday. We tried another local restaurant first but moved because of a gruff host and loud restaurant space. Instead we found Pier 7 with views from almost every table - ours on the water. They accommodated our children with a customised menu (no kids' menu) and treated them at the end to a dessert with a sparkler. It made their day! Thank you to our server who made our twins feel special, took photos of our family and was attentive throughout. Great food for all ages and palates (and good value). This is one of my favourite restaurant spots and never fails to please.
