We live nearby, and would like to visit this restaurant regularly, but cannot. Dinner meals are good, with tasty appetizers large enough for sharing. Service is fine, but can be spotty. The problem is with the wine list. We enjoy wine with dinner, but I do not enjoy dining at a "not-fancy" restaurant where a look at the wine list... More

Dined at the Canyon tonight with my wife and son for a low key birthday celebration. Dinner was excellent in a very comfortable setting. Very nice wine selection.... The crispy callimari salad and sashimi salad were both tasty and well presented. The mains were excellent! Scallop and prawn risotto was rich and filling while the brazed Asian beef had a... More

The restaurant was small and cozy. I found the prices to be expensive but the portions were large, the ingredients were fresh, the wine list was good, and the service was great. The Caesar salad was one of the best I have had. The osso bucco was well presented with full flavor risotto. The hamburger with fries is excellent and... More

We did things a little differently. We started with an amazing pumpkin cheesecake, followed by our mains and then starters. Every dish was flavourful and beautifully presented. The ambiance was cozy, friendly and elegant. We will most definitely be back!

We lunch all over the north shore and this place is one of our favourites. Cozy restaurant with a small but interesting menu. Salads, soup, sandwiches and omelettes Fresh ingredients are highlighted in some of the simplest foods - a real pleasure. Relatively quiet for a mid-week lunch. And has a good wine list.

Began with a spicy fried beef salad with a lovely subtle soy and sesame vinaigrette dressing and a split pea and ham soup. Generous salad portion, fresh crisp greens and crunchy coated, melt in your mouth, beef strips. Soup was very good, but for my taste needed a touch of salt and more ham pieces. The menu changes daily and... More

Food was hearty and good sized servings. We had the mussels & frites (excellent), the seared fois gras (not great, overcooked and the toast was inedible), the duck confit (a little overdone and a little tough) and the chicken (excellent). The service was ok but a little inconsistent (I think the place got a little busy for the two servers.... More

Torn about reviewing this place. This was our second time here for dinner. It's tucked away on the main street in Edgemont, tough to find even when you're looking for it. The room and decor are great - funky and rustic with an open kitchen at the end of the room (theoretically great, but the guy in the t-shirt with... More

We have been to the Canyon many times and always find the food excellent, the service gracious, and the atmosphere comforting. The menu is varied and there are always a number of daily specials to pique your interest. Fresh ingredients make for a fine dining experience.

My daughter had her husbands birthday at the Canyon and there were 17 people at the gathering. Everyone was pleased with the food, the service and the complete dining experience. The food was so delicious that it must have return visits.

Thank Dianne B

Canyon is a neighbourhood joint; bistro style with casual elegance and always a sense of humour. Here we hope you'll share our passion for food, love, respect and a healthy dose of light hearted fun. Our cuisine is focused on local products of course, some old style favourites (can you say Sunday night fondue?), Kidd’s legendary use of bits otherwise known as offal and of course, new items inspired by his new location. Our chef, Scott Kidd, has quite the history in the BC dining scene. Starting his culinary career at the renowned Sooke Harbour House on Vancouver Island, Kidd developed a passion for all things local long before it was a trend.
