My wife and I had a dinner here with 4 friends to celebrate her birthday. It costed $750 and changes for 6 of us. Here're my story I'd like to share.
What I like: the food is tasty and the environment is comfortable. That's why I give it 3 stars.
What I dislike: the management and service does not match the price tag.
1. We brought a small (5 inch) birthday cake with us as we did in all other restaurants. Surprisingly we were told that we have to pay $4 per person if we want to eat our own cake in the restaurant. Yes, $24 for just eating our own cake, even though we spend more than $100 per person for other food already. We were told that we don't have to pay if we buy cake from them. But when we agreed to buy we were told that they didn't have any cake available.
2. We ordered salad and 2 shared dishes. We asked the waiter telling kitchen that don't server our main dishes right away. However, our main dishes were served a couple minutes after the salad and shared dishes being brought to our table. So when we complete our salad and shared dishes our main dishes were half cold already. It is handled better than this in other cheaper restaurants.
3. When we pay our bill we were told that a tips of $100+ being added to our bill already, without asking us at all. It never happened in other restaurants with similar price tag.
I got the feeling that the owner of the restaurant just doesn’t care if I would come again. They just want to make as much as possible from one time.

Lovely customer service. We ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana with a Side Salad, along with Potato Gnocchi in a sweet Rose Sauce along with a tender Striploin Steak dinner with potatoes & vegetables. Food was cooked very well and was delicious. Would recommend for couples too.

We are a family of 5 (2 adults/3 children). Booked a reservation day of on line. Seated at a nice table with excellent service. Our server's name was Hailey. She knew we were going to the movies at the adjacent theatres and provided recommendations of food options that could be cooked in time for our film. We ordered two pizza's; steak and gnocci. Everything was delicious. This is a newer restaurant for the area and we were very pleased with the food and service. We will be definitely return.

My family and I were looking forward to coming here however as soon as I entered the restaurant, I knew we should have turned around. The waiter looked us up and down with a smug look then sat us down. It wasn’t busy at all. My sons commented on how uncomfortable they felt sitting at the table as they informed me the waiters kept looking at them like they don’t belong there.
I asked for bread and the waitress said I have to order it and pay for it. I was appalled. Of course I requested it therefore I am ordering it and will obviously pay for it. Needless to say the food was bland and over priced for the portions they gave us. We will not be coming back!

I had the pleasure of dining out with some friends a little over a week ago. We enjoyed some great tasting Italian food at Costa Sorrento in their private dining room. We had mostly a custom menu and everything tasted amazing, from start to finish.
We started with a platter of preserved meats and vegetables with some cheese and crostini. Great start! Next came some delicious house-made anchovies, pizza, and their Fritto Di Scoglio platter (Fried calamari, shrimp, smelts, basil aioli).
A very delicious pasta dish was next. The pasta and meat sauce had the perfect consistency and flavour! It was delicious!
Everything tasted amazing and we were feeling stuffed BUT there was more to come! These were just the appetizers! What???
Every course, except the pasta, was served family style and the next course was impressive! This platter had Lamb Chops, Steak, Chicken, Sausages, Grilled Vegetables, and Fries with Truffle Oil. Very impressive!
It was time to shift gears and dig in to this great looking platter! OMG! Everything tasted as good as it looked! Perfectly cooked meats with amazing flavours! Yummm!
Now we were really stuffed but then dessert showed up! Damn! Gotta loosen the belt for this. Most of us could only manage a taste of each and it was all very good!
At the end of the night, we were all very stuffed with delicious authentic Italian food and we actually had leftovers from each course. There was a lot of food! And it was all outstanding! As was the service!
Of course, it wouldn't be an Italian meal without wine, red wine. I didn't get a look at the label but it was very enjoyable. I may have had a cocktail too. How else would you celebrate with friends you haven't seen for a while? Cheers!
The service and ambiance were very impressive. If you like Italian food, you have to check out Costa Sorrento! You won't be disappointed!

I have been to the Amalfi Coast in Italy a number of times, and the food at Costa Sorrento is as authentic as it gets. My wife and I love it there, and I have business associates who regularly ask me when I will take them back! Excellent food, excellent service great wine selections. You will not be disappointed!

Great Food, good flavour and piping hot!! The way food should be served! Nice staff, very nice decor. Lovely little touches-the glassware, stylish cloth napkins.
Washrooms are very clean and great looking tiles in the wall. Would go back in a heartbeat!

What a great place for a reasonable family group of 13 to sit and have a meal together. The service was fantastic from all the staff and the food was amazing, which just kept coming. Definitely go again, when next in town. Excellent choice

Terrific ambience, great service, an extensive menu with emphasis on Italian cuisine that we experienced in our travels there. She enjoyed a magnificent Margherita pizza - thin crust that was crisp on the edges and soft inside. I tried one of their pasta features for the day ... white and squid linguine, BC mussels, in their unique Vesuvio cherry tomato sauce. Delicious and the perfect serving size. Reasonable wine list ... we each enjoyed a glass of CA wine ... hers Chardonnay, mine Cab. We were too full this time, but will sample their gelato next time ... the pistachio was a hit at the adjoining table, though they said they change the available flavours all the time. We'll definitely back ... likely to become 'our place' in Downtown Markham. And, yes, we're telling family and friends!!

I've eaten at Costa Sorrento on several occasions, and the food has always been delicious! Although there are many Italian restaurants in the GTA, it is not so easy to find ones that prepare authentic, high quality Italian cuisine! Aside from the food, the venue itself is lovely, the service was also very good, and they were very attentive with my food allergies as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Frequently dine here, highly recommend it for authentic Italian food, especially pizzas and gelato! Great staff, ambiance and always very accommodating! Great for families or a night out, keep up the great work and see you again soon!

I give the authentic Neapolitan pizza close to 5 stars and that is really it.
We were a larger group (10 people) and tried a variety of things that was on the menu, a everyone agreed that despite the pasta (minus the penne) was home-made the showcase was the delicious pizza. The pasta portions were ridiculously small, my 8 year old had kids portion which was considered a half order, but it was literally 20 pieces of penne - THATS IT! And for $12 I would’ve expected more. This is NOT a kid friendly restaurant, they almost discourage kids in there, so don’t go here if you are bringing children - you will regret it!! One of the kids just wanted some fries and we asked if they had just that, the lady said yes, that they had the Truffle fries but she could just make us fries without the truffles and aioli. She forgot to mention that they would still charge the full price of $10. This is officially the most expensive French fries we have ever bought - but thankfully we asked before ordering more for the rest of the kids as they were still hungry due to the fact they only ate 20 pieces of penne.
Anyways, I had planned on going here for a few business meetings, but I can’t in case they order anything but pizza as they would be disappointed.
I REPEAT: DONT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!!

Decor is nice but the food is really overpriced and there isn't much selection. I paid 16$ plus tax and tip for a bland pizza with tomato sauce and cheese. If you wanted another topping it was 3$ per topping...Umm no. My colleague got a salad on a side plate for 20$.
If you want really good Italian for your money do yourself a favour and make the trip into the city to Piano Piano.
