Had a great dinner watching the sunset over the town. The dining room is elegant and the outside space a real bonus on a warm evening. We shared the Bannock bread which came with a great selection of sides, and then moved on to a...generous and delicious bowl of sweet clams. Our mains of Elk, beef rib and the lingcod and pasta were all excellent - and generous - we are a greedy bunch but we only just managed to clear our plates! A good bottle of local wine (Bartier Bros, Syrah 2020) helped. The service was exuberant, friendly and efficient. A lovely evening in a lovely setting and great food.More

Dinner at this restaurant is a big bonus when we’re staying at Spirit Ridge. The menu is very creative, with something for everyone’s taste. Standouts for us were the fried bread to start, a tasty salad that included popcorn and other goodies, and a shared...main that was more than sufficient. Very good service on a sunny evening. Good wine selections, focused of course on their own Nk’mip Cellars.More

Spent a couple of days eating out of this restaurant while on a team planning session at Spirit Ridge. The resort is a great place to stay in its own right but what a great surprise the menu in The Bear, The Fish, The Root...& The Berry is. If you are a culinary adventurer, then this might just be a destination for you. I'm certain that there are some flavours on this menu that you haven't found before. Follow Chef Murray on his foray to Michelin Magic...even if that's not what he wants to do when he grows up. Patrick the mixologist (and server) will keep you entertained, and don't be afraid to ask him what his latest experimental cocktail is. It's a bonus that they have some of the best wines from local BC wineries on the list. Strongly advise you arrive with an empty stomach, and don't be shy about sharing a dish or two with others at your table. They are biggish portions. And even biggish'er flavours...More

February 18, 2023 my wife and I had a wonderful experience tonight at the Bear, The Fish, The Root & The Berry! Our server Patrick was an absolute professional and wonderfully engaging, his recommendations were spot on. Honestly I have not experienced this level of...service anywhere else in the valley, not since I lived in Calgary have I experienced such perfect and balanced attention from a server. And i think the best yet! My wife and I have had bad experiences at local winery restaurants with awful food despite high prices. Not here! The host actually acknowledged our “Date Night” note on our open table reservation and offered complimentary bubbles from stone boat winery. For dinner our entree’s were cooked to perfection, i had the bison rib eye and my wife the lingcod, both expertly cooked and perfectly seasoned. And the portions! Wow in the value for money category. I thank Patrick and the kitchen team for a great experience. We will be coming back again! We are local and live and work in Oliver, and I will be recommending you to all i meet!More
