Restaurants can be places to grab something quick to fill up that empty spot in your stomach, or they can be dining experiences where your senses are engaged. 15 Park Bistro is a sensory experience. You might say it has heart and soul. The dishes...are prepared and presented with heart: they’re thoughtful, beautiful to look at, and delicious. You can tell the chef hopes you’ll enjoy the results of creativity and care. You get what you want here: if you’re in a small hurry you’ll eat well on uncomplicated but well executed fare. If you want more of an experience, opt for the wine tasting flight and pairings for some playful, more drawn-out enjoyment, or the heavier mains with lovely sides - just as good as top rated Vancouver restaurants eaten from the day before.
The soul of this restaurant, though, and the reason we keep coming back when there’s other fine dining available in the area, is Yvette, the manager/front of house. She is the epitome of a gracious hostess and tour guide to the area’s wines. Her enthusiasm, charm and generosity are remarkable. She genuinely cares that her guests have the most enjoyable experience possible and is on constant alert to make sure everything is perfect. Going to 15 Park and finding Yvette on feels like dropping in to see an old friend who happens to drop unpretentious gems of knowledge that heighten your dining experience and potentially your trip. This isn’t a place where you’ll be embarrassed to ask what a croquette is, it’s a place where the staff will laugh with you and just tell you whether it tastes good.More
