Genuine French Food in the OK Valley!

The food was well prepared and very tasty. Service was great. It is quite unexpected to get good cassoulet in a small BC town. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had very tender pork cheeks. The house salad was great on its own and with the optional added blue cheese. The wine list was quite reasonable and they have a young, well trained sommelier who gave us great advice.

Great place, greater service, excellent food!

Perfect meal! Front of house were nice and welcoming. We got a table right when we arrived and our very good server, Sara, was super nice and courteous. Menu looked great making it hard to choose. The drinks and food were all reasonably priced. It’s no cheap-eat, but it’s affordable without sacrificing on the quality of food, service or location. Sara was also helpful with catering for allergies and confirmed with kitchen just to double check. Whilst we waited for our food order, we had time to take in how nicely the outside area of the restaurant is. With the sun setting, it was just a great atmosphere. Comfortable sound levels. Food came within reasonable time, and it was fabulous. The angus filet mignon was super tender and cooked perfectly to order. All in all the main, dessert and cappuccino was excellent! Will definitely come again and test out the rest of the menu! Keep up the good work!

Excellant food.

Excellant food but only some of the staff wore masks. The two hostesses who served food etc did not practice good physical distancing nor did they wear masks. This was upsetting. The kitchen was very busy so getting our food took a really long time but it was worth the wait when it did arrive.

They completely overbooked with reservations and had a different excuse for each upset guest that came in with a reservation. After waiting 30 mins beyond our reservation time to be seated, we ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine. After receiving our salads 40 mins later, we still had no cocktails or wine. We cancelled the cocktails and waited another 10 mins for the wine. Over 45 mins to have a bottle of wine delivered. The food we horrible. Cannelloni with ground veal, completely dry inside with noddle's bathing in beef broth. The manager, or hostess or who know what asked how our meal was and I told her dry inside and swimming in broth instead of sauce. She said that is strange and walked away. We never say her again. We asked for the cheque, that took 15 mins and it was wrong. This place is completely mismanaged. Go to McDonald's instead, seriously!

Very disappointing: Overpriced for average food; poor service; zero COVID precautions

Zero COVID precautions: Restaurant is overcrowded and tables are way to close together to allow for any social distancing; none of the staff were wearing masks/gloves; and no hand sanitizer was visible. Poor service: Received email confirmation on our reservation that they could guarantee a table outdoors, only to arrive and be told that "they don't make such guarantees". After a 20 minute wait, (and an offer for a table outside of the patio, on the street sidewalk,) we received a table indoors. Another 25 minutes to order drinks. Another 20 minutes before we reminded the waiter that they forgot our bread basket - and finally, over 90 minutes after our reservation did we receive our food. Highly overpriced food: Average Italian food - nothing wrong with it, but nothing special as well. Would not recommend for the food or value for money.

COVID preventative measures not present

We went there to eat dinner and felt extremely uncomfortable throughout the entire meal and couldn't wait to get out of there. No one who was working at the restaurant was wearing a mask, and they did not keep a 2m distance as they were serving food, cutlery, drinks, etc. in between customers. Tables were not placed 2m apart, and guests were visiting from other tables. We sat in the "patio" area, but the patio was enclosed by these glass panels. It was so hot, they had the fans at maximum blowing air around, but it was just circulating within that enclosed space.

Not service oriented would not recommend

Would not recommend. We called for takeout at 630 and we were advised that it was currently busy so they wouldn’t do takeout until 8 PM. So we waited for 90 minutes and called after 8 then we were told they would not do any takeout. So we waited 90 minutes and they said they would not serve us. To make matters worse most restaurants were closed now. Horrible way to run a business.

It was just terrible. First thing that went horribly wrong was that a waiter had an unfinished cup of coffee and poured it back into the carafe of the coffee maker to stay warm. Who ever ordered a coffee next got used coffee. Absolutely disgusting! The food itself was not very good either. It was all terrible and tasteless. The meatballs you pay extra for are tiny balls of meat that have been heated so many times over they are burnt and hard. The $40 cassoulet dish was basically a can of beans, a sausage and an old dried up duck leg. Terrible. The kids portions are very very tiny and the fries are $9. Not even duck fat fries. If they were then fine charge that much. Save your money and go to Boston Pizza it’s probably better there.

What a disappointment. Over priced, pretentious, and lacks taste. Great staff but food is a major let down for the price. 20 bucks for a « salad » where the egg plant is frozen and raw is a bit hard to stomach. I don’t understand the fuss, having eaten in France and knowing that the owner is French I struggle do understand the purpose of this « bistro ». The service and wine list were the only redeeming points.

A must when in Osoyoos.

Great all around! The service we received from Laurie was all you could ask for: knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. There is a good variety of dishes on the menu. My husband chose the cassoulet and it did not disappoint, cooked individually in the oven in a pottery bowl. Outstanding! I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection with a risotto and accompanying broccoli I, again just right. I would highly recommend this privately owned restaurant.

Went here while on a little vacation from kelowna, Absolutely fabulous time. Desmond our waiter was very attentive, polite and courteous when answering our questions and giving us the best service in osoyoos.The food was on par with the great service, escargot was amazing!the Osso bucco cut like butter and the lamb was so succulent. While there is a pandemic going on, if you want a “safe” place to eat (pun intended) I highly suggest Conviva restaurant and make it a point to ask for Desmond! Thanks again !

Good Relaxing Food

We made a reservation in the morning for 6 PM and got there five minutes early. We were seated immediately at a table for four. They have configured their tables into extra long to accommodate Covid issues. As a starter they brought us a very nice bread with scrumptious dip of olive oil/vinegar. Two of us had the pan-seared scallops and they were done to perfection. Another person had the Osso Buco which was also very tasty. The couple of desserts were consumed and they were decent. Everything was accompanied by a “Road 13” Chenin Blanc, a very nice wine. The place was quite busy and you can see that reservations are probably required.

Amazed that there’s no current reviews this is an excellent restaurant with a great French and Italian menu. They have a new Server who is knowledgeable about the local wines and has redone the wine list. The service that I saw was excellent by all. We had Cecile who’s the wine expert and we’re very pleased with her knowledge and choices of wines. The food that we had was excellent. The garden and Caesar salads. The pirate seafood pasta and the veal canaloni were both made with fresh pasta and it all just melted in your mouth. Being that tiramisu is one of our favourites, we shared it for dessert and both agree it’s the best we’ve ever had. We will be going back there every chance we get.

Traditional French and Italian Mix

My parents loved their first meal there they brought us back the second night. They were slammed on a Monday night but we never felt rushed. We received every attention and the server was gracious enough to bring us 3 tasters of wine before we settled on a bottle. The cassoulet was a crowd favorite and even the green salad was flavourful. Recommend.

A must when in Osoyoos

We have nothing but praise for this restaurant. The service provided by our server, Laurie, was everything you could ask for. She was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. My husband ordered the cassoulet and it came in a pottery dish, straight from the oven and it was divine! I chose the scallops and they were perfect. They were accompanied by a risotto and vegetables with a light lemon dill butter. We had trouble choosing between these two and the Osso Buco or the braised lamb. Go treat yourself!
